Hill handball to Butler
The Hill handball to Butler resulted in a goal but it was a poor option and poorly executed. It ended up at his feet and he had to slow down to gather it. Why would you take this option when you have a shot at goal from 15 metres out virtually straight in front ?
Some players seem really fearful of having a set shot at goal from close in. Butler's first shot a goal saw him play on and try to screw it through and Gresham's set shot later in the game saw him so nervous he was fidgeting unbelievably and then kicked a shocker.
It's all in the mind and must be hard for the coaches to address.

Felt a few of hills handballs fell a little short however the Idea is right. Pressure lacking, rub it in a little bit and kill the Bulldogs energy. Same with Billings mark on the line. Moral Killers if we execute them

Nah. It was trust and instinct and there's no way I'd take that away from our players, that's something other coaches have done. The handball got to the target, that's all that matters, the execution will get better.
It was a smoothly played match from us. The only hiccup I can think of was Coff in the back pocket, calling for it when running on to his left with no one clear to kick to.

It ended up in 6 points, was never going to be anything else against the snoring Bulldogs.Gershwin wrote: ↑Mon 15 Jun 2020 6:24pm The Hill handball to Butler resulted in a goal but it was a poor option and poorly executed. sure he could've gifted him a goal, but why not make him do a bit of work?

I accept your point but none of the guys have played footy for 80 plus days. Can’t be too hard on them. They will get better pretty quickly. B. Hill’s disposal is normally elite.Gershwin wrote: ↑Mon 15 Jun 2020 6:24pm The Hill handball to Butler resulted in a goal but it was a poor option and poorly executed.
