Has played better but has also played worse.
Automatic selection for me.
Seems to be stuck in third gear at the moment but has the ability to pull blinders out of the hat.

Confidence player who should be more consistently good than he is.
But as IluvHarvey said, perfectly capable of pulling a blinder out of the hat.
This week would be a good time for that, Jack.

Hasn't reached the level I would have hoped for yet but still early days. IMO has been ok this year ,not setting the world on fire but serviceable. Has plenty of upside good ball user & good decision maker just needs to believe in himself more & things might turn for him.

How long has he been at the club? 5-6 years. He’s in his hitting zone. Bont is captain and going for his 3Rd B&F

Re: How is Billings traveling?
His form has dipped a bit from that purple patch run that we had when we looked really.
He’s still contributing and it’s quite noticeable in our great performances or even in the games that we lose... when he has a good game or blitzes it for a quarter, we play really well.
My feeling is he’s copping a lot more attention in the 2nd 1/2 of the year and has been down as a result.
Regardless he’s still a good contributor
If we get a bit more elite midfield talent, hopefully guys like him and Gresh can play more forward pocket rotating into the middle type roles and push a guy like Kent out.

Re: How is Billings traveling?
Agree with this. He and Gresh are better fwds than mids. Drafting small fwds so early in the draft is an argument for another day, but neither are having the impact in the midfield we were hoping for. Both contributors though

Re: How is Billings traveling?
His new knickname should be ‘the surgeon’
I saw a bloke who can carve up the opposition with his precision kicking.
He’s never going to be an inside mid, although he’s shown that he doesn’t shirk a contest in the air. His job Is to provide an option on the outside.
He’ll learn from Brad Hill that you don’t need to the toughest and most courageous player when you play on the wing. He needs to go up a level with his fitness and gut running and he’ll earn his keep and then some.

Re: How is Billings traveling?
Yeah pretty much that.
He did some good things on the weekend.
He's just as likely to bob up and kick three this weekend.
Been kind of a 5/10 season for him really. Just travelling.

Would have votes in the first few rounds.
Has tailed off, but still contributing something each game.
Would love him to break out against the Tigers and have a 25 possie game.

By bus with the rest of team, it is too far to walk and the Queensland government would not allow it.

Re: How is Billings traveling?
I don't tend to notice him, maybe because he doesn't have any tatts.
But when I watch replays, and especially in the last final, he was very, very good. Read the play, hard, clean. I underrate him unfairly.

Re: How is Billings traveling?
It's time to accept Billings is not a star, won't ever be a star. He's a good role player, generally finds enough of the ball and generally uses it just fine.
This is not a knock. He plays his role in the team and is a starting 18 player. He holds his position within the team structure as a wingman rather well.
But he's not a star player. About 99 percent of his output is unremarkable.

Yep. He's very good at what he does. People need to stop thinking he'll turn into a Fyfe of Dustycarn_sainter wrote: ↑Tue 06 Oct 2020 1:01am It's time to accept Billings is not a star, won't ever be a star. He's a good role player, generally finds enough of the ball and generally uses it just fine.

Re: How is Billings traveling?
Billings seems to be the invisible man. When you watch the game he rarely stands out. But when you check the stats and then watch the replay and look for him, you realise that in most games that he has been pretty good.
Pretty good is what Billings is. He is not elite, nor a gun, but he is pretty good.
