Why dealing with Essendon is so hard

Post: # 1877958Post Life Long Saint »

https://www.sen.com.au/news/2020/10/13/ ... adam-saad/

In summary, Essendon wanted one of Charlie Curnow, Harry McKay, or Sam Walsh for Adam Saad. That was summarily rejected - as it should be.
Failing that, they asked for Tom De Koning and pick seven.
Remember that Saad can walk for nothing if a deal can't be struck.

Adam Saad is a handy flanker but only really plays one role.
He is not a match winner.

It just shows how much Essendon overrate their players and why this club has not had success since the AFL got strict on salary cap breaches.

It highlights how well we really did out of the Carlisle deal.

I think Dodoro needs some tough love from the rest of the competition. He is so widely despised and for good reason. Put succinctly, he's a prick. I Hope the deal falls through and Saad goes into the pre-season draft. If he gets to Carlton, it would be poetic justice, and Essendon fans can then laud their amazing list manager.

They got him for a future second. He hasnt improved that much. Shouldn't require much more than Carlton's second. Maybe a swap of late picks if they are feeling generous.

He even looks like one. Nasty.

Everyone should boycott from dealing with Essendon to obtain a player. Players will nominate for the draft rather than stay. Any player wanting to transfer into Essendon should automatic ask for a first round pick. Essendon deserve the position they are in as they have an arrogant administration and feel they are entitled.

Essendon still think they are an entitled club and they cant stand the idea of players wanting to leave. Hence Dodoro making it so difficult for players wanting out. Their arrogance is why players want to leave the place its rotten.

Saad is a great player and would transform Carlton's backline. I reckon he would be worth around pick 18. In other words a late FRDP.

If I was Carlton I would be trading picks 7 and 45 to Brisbane for picks 18 and 19. Then I would offer pick 18 to Essendung and take pick 19 to the Draft. But Carlton are too stupid to do that.

Saad a poor man Basha , great to see Carlton love him ( repalcement to Simpson) . Let Ess over rate him and either get nothing or have to settle for a real value.

Dodo has no idea of win/win which is something that exists now days. Stuffed up Daniher last year and threatening to do the same with Saad

Just let all their players walk out through the PSD and let Essendon get nothing.
An informal arrangement between clubs to let them get where they want to go for 1 year.
That should get Dodoro sacked and drag Esendon into line with 17 other clubs

Spot on. Dodoro epitomizes why the Dopers are the basket case they are. Too many worrying about their reputations and can't get their heads out of their own butts to do what's best for their club. If they're too stupid to work that out then they get what they deserve. Also it shows how far we have come as a proffesionally run club in the last 12 months. We were a basket case but the right people at the helm, and we've come good.

Because Injectors fans are absolutely and utterly delusional about everything to do with their club that is from the Sheedy era. They can't stand everything thereafter (Knights, Whoosha, Rutten etc). Nothing - no nothing - is as bizarre as the cult of Hird (given what he led them into and through) and how the large majority of their supporter base would have him back in a heartbeat.

Why would you want him sacked?
Surely make the decision not to deal with him and let him rot at Tullamarine.
If ever there was a match made in Heaven it's Essendope and Dildoro.

Isn’t it obvious?

He gets away with it. Essendon always play hardball and more often then not, demands are met

Especially with us.
Carlisle and Lovett... got what they wanted. Carlisle was ok but we paid massive overs for Lovett

Hey, hey, shhhhh! Let's enjoy his trading & encourage more of it. As far as I'm concerned it is working very well.

Good point.
Really just for player movement. Instead of constipating the whole trade period....it just gets moving.

Sheedy even said that yesterday, said Hird had a lot to offer.

Sure, coke, hash, viagra, steroids.....the list goes on.

It will be interesting to see what draft concession pick they get for Joe Daniher. Essendon fans are expecting a 1st round pick, but Daniher is a guy who has only played a handfull of games in the past 3 years. If Dal Santo was worth a 2nd round pick, I'd say Daniher is probably worth a 3rd round compensation pick.
