Super sub - Dylan Roberton

Post: # 1890835Post Winmar7 »

With only 8 more games to qualify for father-son, is it not too late for Robbo to come out of retirement, and be selected as the concussion sub for 8 games?

Make it happen Saints!

Medical Sub

I disagree with Roberton as the medical sub.

But it certainly presents an opportunity for a star player late in their career who is not expected to play a full game in the selected 22.

But I think the rule is stupid.
Virtually every match there is an injury serious enough to keep a player out for 12 days.
Every hamstring or serious muscle tear will result in a substitute, then when later a player is actually concussed the injury sub will already have been used.

But we don't know what goes on with the AFL insurance policy.
Could this be the AFL pushing responsibility for an injured player continuing to play onto the clubs and their insurance.
If not insurance then has it got something to do with the AFL protecting itself from work safety issues.
