Umpire umpire umpire
Appalling from start to finish. The moment we wrapped Selwood up spun him 360 no free then tackled again only to see the ball dropped no free. We tackled like possessed men with no reward 85 tackles for basically zero.
Hill legged no free but holding the ball.
Ryder jumps in the ruck free against goal Geelong.
Howard pinned for deliberate when the umpire clearly got the rule wrong.
Rattas mark hit the ground
Ryder in front pays it to Ratta
Just horrendous umpiring from start to end

12-13
Hand balling the ball straight over the boundary is a free every time, in any situation, stop embarrassing yourself.

Yes, what he should have done was put it through for a behind and being under pressure that's not a free.

Pressure doesn’t matter when it’s the boundary.

Re: Umpire umpire umpire
If you pick the ball up close to the line running directly at the line and are tackled it is not a free. You haven’t made a deliberate attempt to get the ball over. Umpires know this is the Rilke.

Re: Umpire umpire umpire
Yes of course. We could have won the game if our tackling was rewarded.
Learn the rules by the way it’s in there to see.

Re: Umpire umpire umpire
Absolutely spot on. Boundary umpires need to call it if field umpires are poorly positioned.
This rule is simple, yet they cannot call it.

Re: Umpire umpire umpire
No, he's right, as were the umpires.
Again though, a stupid rule that could be easily amended to the standard every other ball sport uses.

If you are that close to the boundary and pick the ball up and are tackled you can dispose of it in a direct line.

Re: Umpire umpire umpire
I was there and haven’t watched the replay but on the scoreboard it looked like he aimed for the behinds but it deflected off the tacklers arm. Might be wrong but there was an arm in the frame.
