I actually went to Optus, and watched the game live, unlike in Melbourne where THOUSANDS of Victorian members couldn't because of lockdown, and even when crowds were permitted, preferred to boycott the games in a protest against the rubbish dished up by the players.

Leigh Fisher was 20m from a Saint who nearly got his head ripped off, and Leigh grudgingly put the whistle to his mouth- the distaste similar to what you would do if offered a can of coke after someone else had a sip

Remember cricket in India before the 90s, it was impossible to get an LBW from their home country umps.

I know where you're coming from I won't go to a saints game in WA even though I live here . I'm a member & could get tickets but after years of abuse win lose or draw & intimidatory behaviour I don't go & the umpiring well you don't have to be there to know how biased that is . But Leigh is only doing his job & a personal attack is un warranted IMO . Just take any awkwardness or bias out of the equation & don't allow him to officiate in St.Kilda games . Pretty simple IMO

I moved to Perth a few yrs back. Been to every single Saints game in Perth+Mandurah, including a pre-season game at Rushton Park Mandurah in about 2002-2003. Fergus Watts was playing.
Listen, being an interstate member means we get an email a few wks before a Perth game, which lets us nominate how many tickets we want. First ticket is complimentary.
And every interstate club is allocated bays at Optus.
This time we were all in bays 333, 334, 105 and at least one other.
You missed out on an amazing experience- there must have been several thousand Sainters there

That was Pakistan . There was one particularly shocking series in 1988/89 over there, when Javed Miandad as captain. The bias was so extreme that Border and Simpson openly voiced their anger . Then that prick of a show - 60 Minutes , led by Gerald Stone- did a whole segment accusing the Aussies of being racist whingers.

Gatting and the Poms had similar problems over there.

India was much better . In 1987/88 , in the tied test, when we appealed for LBW for the last wicket, the umpire stuck the finger up in record time!
