Pretty simply really ... didn't take our chances

Post: # 442899Post Oh When the Saints »

In the last quarter, West Coast kicked 5.1

In the last quarter, St Kilda kicked 4.5

Fiora, Gehrig, Milne, Ball, Riewoldt and Birss all missed very gettable shots in the second half.

One or two of those through and we win the game.

Against the elite sides ... and make no mistake, despite Kerr's absence, the Eagles were an elite team last night ... you MUST take your chances.

Every chance and every opportunity must be taken.

Regardless of gameplan, coach, personnel, any of that crap ... if you don't take your chances against the top sides, you lose.

The top sides TAKE their chances.

Hence West Coast 16.10 and St Kilda 14.14

All year, we have failed to kick accurately for goal, and failed to capitalise on our hard work.

If you don't take your chances, you don't win important games.

I thought we had a real crack and played some of our best footy for two years last night ....

But we didn't take our chances when they were there, and it cost us in the end.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Hit the nail right on the head.

We blew it in the first quarter by not taking the chances that we set up.

Spot on Ross.

Bollocks. Hansen could have put us away twice except for missing two easy shots. WCs chances were more precise than ours.

Don't you reckon Worsfold could sit around after another f*** up telling the WA press "I would have won but X Clarke kicked a ball into the turf and it bounced over two blokes for a goal".

Spot on Ross.
