Would like to think that they have plenty of numbers (hopefuls) training with them at this time of year. I know that there are 4 or 5 guys who played for Scoresby U18's in the EFL this year who are trying out with Box Hill !!

Casey Training

Post: # 492178Post jezza »

Had a peek and about 35-40 players.Very small group no talls, quite windy at Casey.Saw Biagi, didnt see Garrubra or Harrison there. Not much staff there and the group was very quiet but it was very hot.

Local paper has Biagi linked to Frankston.

I'd imagine there will be talls added to the Scorpians squad after the various AFL drafts are done and dusted, then all the players who missed out will be looking for somewhere to play to prove their credentials.....

Looks like he'll meet up against with the Saints listed players in '09 then.

Casey Council reaction to Saints move to Frankston
would appear that NOT ALL councillors were welcoming >
http://www.starnewsgroup.com.au/story/51796

THE City of Casey is in shock after losing the St Kilda Football Club to Frankston.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>..
Casey deputy mayor Kevin Bradford said he was glad St Kilda had chosen to go to Frankston.

“Now hopefully the (Casey) CEO and council can concentrate on looking after local (football) teams and not focusing on pet projects such as St Kilda,â€

where former players are at
http://www.frankstonleader.com.au/artic ... _news.html.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The Saints’ move to Frankston is a blow to the Scorpions, who lost several high-profile figures in the off-season.

Former coach Peter Banfield, who steered Casey to last season’s finals, resigned after not being offered first crack at the newly-created, full-time coaching position.

Captain Nigel Carmody followed, accepting the skipper’s role at Collingwood’s inaugural VFL side.

Five-time best-and-fairest winner Steve Harrison has also walked, moving to Chelsea as its captain/coach.

Both players said Banfield’s departure had affected their decisions.

Last season’s assistant coach Troy Makepeace has also moved to Moe.

The Scorpions last Wednesday announced that former Melbourne caretaker coach Greg Hutchison would steer the club in 2008.

I haven't read much on here for a while. Are we not moving to Frankston? Are our reserves not playing with Frankston? :?

Moving from Linton Street to Frankston in 2010. No change to alignment (at this stage!).

Ground is built, but it is a narrow crappy little ground. It is the current home of the Frankston Dolphins in the VFL. The Council has to do some work on the ground to open up the pockets a bit more.

It is sub-standard compared to Casey Fields where the Scorpions are based.

However, there were some financial sweeteners for the club - land and building to be given to the club as an asset.

Also a much better location for most people including the players. The right choice if only out of Frankston and casey.
