AGE Subscription !!
I received notification today that my AGE subscription runs through to 2 March 2009. This is proof that my memberships are being processed. I chose the credit card deductions with no changes to memberships, reserved seats etc. Feb will come soon enough with all our goodies. Do we get the Highlights DVD? We signed up over a month ago !!
eastern I got an email suggesting that everything will be sent out in early feb. I would assume that the dvd will be sent out with it then.
Love my age, ok it can be a little annoying with it's opinion articles in the sport but in the last couple of months we have been left alone. Love opening the paper and only seeing good news

Agree The Age deal is great.Solar wrote:eastern I got an email suggesting that everything will be sent out in early feb. I would assume that the dvd will be sent out with it then.
I also got the same email.
It didn't mention the DVD.
Understand the memberships are not being mailed out till Feb.
But I was hoping to get the DVD as a Xmas present
I just assumed that was part of the Dec cut-off date was so they could ship them out by Xmas.
Does anybody know when the DVD is coming ?

Especially now that I can get my arms that far apart !!
Less that 50 cents a week, I really cant see why anybody can knock that back

It's good.Eastern wrote:Over $300 worth for $25 = Ripper Deal

But not quite that good.
A standard subscription is about $26 per month home delivered
= $26 x 12 months = $312 pa
The Saints deal is
$25 pa for 4 days
But if you buy it over the counter @$1.40 for the other 3 days, then
Cost = $1.40 x 3 days x 52 weeks + the $25 subscription = $243.40
So the true saving for an existing Age reader is $312 - $243 = $69 per annum.
A handy saving, but not that massive.
But the cost of buying it over the counter for a year
= 52 weeks x (5 day@$1.40 + $2.20 Sat + $1.70 Sun) = $566.80.
So the saving compared to buying it over the counter is $323.40
Which just goes to prove how much more expensive it is buying it in the newsagent each day !

Less than 50 cents a week for 4 newspapers....
for a person that is NOT an Age subscriber....
How does that stand with your price comparisons ???

StFid, it stands amazingly well.St Fidelius wrote:Yep and I notice that you didn't quote me....

If you only want the Age Fri-Mon then your choices are
1) $25 pa via the Saints deal
2) or buy it over the counter
52 weeks x (1.40+2.20+1.70+1.40) = $348.40
A saving of $323.40
Or a 92.8% discount.
Pretty bl00dy good deal for a casual reader !

Haha, when I moved a few months ago, I was worried about how I would cancel it as I also didn't know which newsagent was delivering it, but in my clean up I found the original letter that was sent to me by the Age & I was able to organise it through them. As far as I know they cancelled it, or someone else is now receiving the paper!
would love to be able to get that deal...we pay the same for social club and 11 game memberships but dont get the offer. farked over againSt Fidelius wrote:Yep $25 for 12 months ...Eastern wrote:Over $300 worth for $25 = Ripper Deal

That's pretty poor, but maybe the newsagent that delivers your newspapers does not stock the Age and also would cost morenoddy wrote:Living in dear old Aderlaide we dont get the offer nor do other interstate members who are full members. And the Age is sold here so............

yep, I love the Age offer.
IMO the only holes in it is the lack of tabloid format sports liftout in the Saturday paper.....makes it harder to read when you're on the sh**ter!!
But I hear the whole paper will move to Tabloid layout in about a year, which is excellent news, espec for train travellers!
