My top 10 are, and I'm not biased (much) -

1 - Reiwoldt.
2 - Dal Santo.
3 - Hayes,
4 - S.Fisher,
5 - Harvey (Sir Rob),
6 - Ball
7 - Kosi.
8 - Clarke,X.,
9 - Gardiner.M.
10 - Montagna.

Apologies to the other 14 or so Saints because they are proberbly worthy of being in the top 10 also. Jonothan Brown, Judd etc. would then come in around 25 onwards

M.Gardiner will be a major contributor towards the Sainters winning the Flag in 2008 - that's why he is there.

Not sure I'd have Judd in the list right now, I want to see how he comes back from surgery. Prior to the injury he was #1, but if he doesn't come back at full force, the top 10 players in the AFL is a pretty heady list... IMO, putting him in the list, but at anywhere but #1 is speculative, so here's my specifically Juddless list:

1) Jonathan Brown
2) Nick Riewoldt
3) Matthew Pavlich
4) Gary Ablett Junior
5) Chad Cornes
6) Luke Hodge
7) Dean Cox
8) Simon Black
9) Jimmy Bartel
10) Brent Harvey

Yes, no Kerr... I just don't trust him to produce week in week out. At his best, he challenges for #1, but he's a headcase who can dissapear, and can hurt his team. The pressure will be on him in '08. Another guy who'd have to be close (10-15) but I just couldn't fit in is Adam Goodes.

And of course, none of us should forget the player I'm sure we all agree is #11: Jason Blake :)

Interesting exercise. I'll do my top ten overrated players to add to the debate.

1. Adem Yze (Melbourne) - can't spell Adam correctly
2. Chad Cornes (Port Adelaide) - frontrunner, Fevola was right
3. Travis Cloke (Collingwood) - jam tin cannot kick over
4. Jeff White (Melbourne) - outside receiving ruck rover
5. Adam Cooney (Western Bulldogs) - supposed hard man
6. Simon Goodwin (Adelaide) - disposal problems
7. Chris Tarrant (Fremantle) - where do I start?
8. Lance Franklin (Hawthorn) - can't mark above his head, frontrunner
9. Adam McPhee (Essendon) - injury prone, lost his athleticism
10. Luke Ball (St Kilda) - gee that was hard to type

A couple of years ago, yes. 2008 is make or break for Luke if you ask me. Only my opinion of course.

Depends... where do you think others rate him, and where do you rate him yourself?

If anybody is still rating him in the Judd/Hodge class or near it, then yeah, it's time for a reality check (we all hope he can get back there, but I can't say I'm holding my breath)... on the other hand, I get the impression many on this forum have no respect for the game of in and under and tackle he plays (i.e. I sway between your view and the view of SaintBot).

Unless he rediscovers running and kicking (and his kicking was always a poor suit) he's not among the leagues best. However, he's a top clearance winner for the club who always gets his nose dirty and does the hard work.

I want '04/'05 Luke Ball back... but '07 Luke Ball is still a more than handy player to have. I think '08's the most important year of Ball's career so far, but not to the extent of "make or break".

You cannot be serious about Franklin. He would be first picked in about 10 sides and 2nd or 3rd in the rest. Also Cornes is a great player as well. The rest are pretty good though. Just my opinion of course.

Agree plugger66.

I hate Franklin, but he is in the top 10 players in the AFL.

And Cornes, with an already strong reputation, showed how good he was in Port's GF loss.

Is Jobe watson still an AFL listed player?

Him x 10 for worst player if he is.
