Why would Wallace get the flick now?

Doesn't the decade of success start in 2012?

Bit rough to give the flick to a bloke who is establishing such a strong foundation.

i would expect stkilda to make a strong play for laidley as an assistant/manager if he doesnt get picked up as head coach for another club

hes done brilliant with a poor team...wouldnt mind seeing him at a good club

Why would Laidley leave the senior coaching role at North (or have I missed something)?

I've done some checking - the decade of success is actually from 2011.

From the start of 2007:

RICHMOND coach Terry Wallace says opportunity will knock for the Tigers in 2009, with a "decade of opportunity" to kick in from 2011.
"What opportunity that is, no one knows, but, certainly, it will be a time for us when two age brackets (of players) meet," Wallace said.
“A holding pattern," Wallace said of Richmond's current state. "Whether that be ninth, seventh, fifth, 10th, we don't know. We expect improvement, whether that's finals, who knows?"

Double digit first round draft picks since he took over from and bagged Frawley.
Passed up Lance Franklin
is it 600 or 700k / year
Looks like they will serve up the same garbage this year as the last few years.
He deserves to be the first coach sacked this year. 8-)

Richmond is going exactly nowhere and I think Wallace is going to have a tough year.

Maybe it will be a decade of comparative success.
Compared to their 3 previous decades ?

hes gone... hes been found out he actually isnt a super coach like the media spouted 4th year into a 5 year pland and hes taken the club from perenial 9th place team to a basket case i think Commetti said it best last night with his comment "the hope of richmond are doing year 8 at the moment"

Wallace has a contract for this yr and next worth plenty. We all know that his love of $$$$$$$$$ is almost at the same level as his love of himself. For those reasons he would be sure to have made his contract watertight. Richmond may not have any other options that won't send them broke !!

true but its clear that wallace was not the right man for richmond and they will be suffering for the blunder for a fair few years

Let's not forget that Wallace isn't working alone. His partner in crime is GREG MILLER, a man of questionable credentials !!

agreed he has some dodgy staff around him but in all honesty ive never rated wallace . i think he was overrated at the dogs then did the dirty on them then went and became a media footy "expert" and i think that tricked alot of people into thinking he was a super coach . does anyone know his actual win / loss record comaired to the likes of malthouse mathews roos ect i reckon he would be lucky to match Muffinhead from freos record

I personally believe Wallace's standing as a coach was definatly overinflated by the media.

The media and Wallace have a match made in heaven. He is definatly the most media friendly coach in the AFL so the TV stations love sticking his face on the box and he loves the exposure.

Obviously the coaches are the face of their respective clubs but when an individual starts to resemble a media performer rather than a senior coach you have to wonder whether they are in the correct job.

thats true have you ever noticed how almost every sacked coach become and expert on the game once they enter the media ... seriously if they were that much of experts why did they get the arse ??

Terry could always become a sunlamp salesman after his sacking in June.

excellent moniker for Wallace Stinger. IMO the guys a genuine knob. Right up there with Worsfold on my list of turkeys in the coaching ranks.

M Thompson - 48% not updated for 2007 matches.
The guy should have been sacked before the 2007 season began.
He clearly can't coach, he had no hope of winning a premiership.
