Round 4 v Geelong

Post: # 529951Post dcstkfc »

If we can get over Syndey, Carlton and the Dogs shouldn't be too tough, and this will look very much like Round 6 2004 v Brisbane Lions.

St.Kilda unbeaten, pre-season champions v reigning premiers.

We'll win 1 of our first 3.

Then we'll come up against the cats and we'll fire up and storm home for the rest of the season.

Please guys, let's not get ahead of ourselves, remember that the NAB means nothing...

However it would be great to go 4-0 :) :)

Bring on Round 4..... I can't wait to play them in a home and away game.

But yes like others said, gotta get past rounds 1 to 3 first.

But it would be nice to get to them unbeaten and then beat'em

Swans will be very tough.

Carlton are no push over, although we should beat them unless Juddy plays, and then it will be more of a 50/50.

Doggies will be fired up early in the year so that won't be an easy game either. Expecting a tough match against them, they are desperate to beat us and Eade will use it as motivation for the season.

And then the Cats is a huge game ... thinking of flying back for it if we are 3-0 ...

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

??? If we are only 50/50 with the Blues we are in big trouble.

Now yes the Blues should be better in 2008...and not just Judd, but because all those low draft picks they have stockpiled are getting older....

But their rucks are still poor and their backline lacking.

Their ruck stocks will be something special in a few years however right now they are nothing special, their backline is also nothing special, while they have a good (yet overrated) midfield we should still be more than a match for them, I am far more worried about Sydney than Carlton, but atleast they usually start slow...

Birss vs Judd, perhaps even Eddy could get a run with role due to his fitness.

Max has had Fev's measure for as long as I can remember.

That's to speak nothing of our potent forwardline and the Blues having no-one to match up on Kosi, Gehrig, and putting Waite on Roo will rob their forward line.

Indeed....and early in 2008 they will not be dominating.

Can fit anyone in the side if there is a job for them, especially taggers.

I think he means that Eddy is a rookie,...and we have no LTI's and so he cannot be elevated.

You can't just play Rookies because you have a job for them

Anyway....if things pan at like most think...The Saints v Cats game will bea cracker and the first for the year to have the tag "Game of the season".

Should be a huge crowd....and heaps of pre-game hype.

True. I have little faith in us keeping injury free, sadly. Or perhaps i'm still in NAB cup mode.

Please..... Did Judd play the time we beat West Coast by 100 points a few years ago? He is one outstanding player in a very ordinary side. Carlton will need a lot more than a fit Judd if they want to improve.
