Do you mean that the Saints aren't happy or the panel aren't happy with the Saints?

It's probably something minor. I hope so anyway.

Half your luck with rain Iceman - hope we get some too. Hope Saints draw attention to "tunnelling"".

Some story about a drop kick captain who was blind drunk, had a leak in the street, got arrested.

Back on topic, what is tunnelling?

And banned at centre bounces - an automatic free kick.

on now
yes re tunnelling and showed two incidents- spoke to Andrew gaze - archer says not aploy to hurt a player
archer says a ploy to push them under the ball- not to take them of their feet. - obviously feels not an issue

all discussion over in a few minutes though

Garry felt worth raising by the saints but only to be alert to

Hutchy said fairly certain Saints would be mentioning it to the AFL.

Yep, Saints complaint of 'tunnelling' on Roo.

Hutchy the Tosser and Caro took the view that the treatment was bad.

GLyon said it isn't too bad and certainly not deliberate.
GArcher said he used to do it and basicaly there is nothing wrong with it, especially for a small backman on a tall forward.

they may have had a different opinion if they saw the other instances as well.

I understand that it is a tactic and usually it doesn't usual result in the legs being taken out. Might happen once a match when used legitamately but 4 or 5 times in the one match???? Comeon theres something happening there.

I think with technology it is more obvious.

At the time I thought it was more Roo running under it.

On MLF's youtube it is clearly a ploy where the shoulder takes out the inner thigh/leg.

But my faith in the AFL says nothing will happen.

Whether or not it is a deliberate ploy or not something still has to be done becuase you can't have players landing on their heads. When someone injures their neck from it the fact that it wasn't a deliberate ploy isn't going to make much difference and isn't going the scenario suddenly acceptable.

However, it could seem that these were deliberate ploys by the swans player, not so much to injure Riewodlt but to knock him off balance and take him to ground therefore taking him out of the contest. Particularly, the Bolton one looks bad because he makes no attempt to jump and mark the ball and continues to run through the contest despite the fact that he had already run past the ball.

it has to be far worse than dragging a player's arms down in a marking contest considering the damage it could cause a player falling from that height on to his neck or shoulders.

it is a dangerous tactic that should be outlawed and i'm not surprised that in basketball it is considered a low, dog act.

well done to all concerned - loris, eastern, ausfatcat etc - for putting this issue on the agenda. the power of the internet is awesome.

btw, did roo even get a free kick?

I dont think it needs a rule, to me its blatant interference in the classic sense and should be a free kick
