Koschitzke and the ruck

Post: # 559744Post cwrcyn »

Once again, Koschitzke's centre bounce ruckwork was abysmal. Symonds slammed the ball down the throat of his midfielders with ease. I just hope that Steven King will be fit for our next game, as Koschitzke will need to play up forward in Riewoldt's absence. When Koschitzke is in the ruck, the opposition gets the upper hand. It has been a one to one correlation every time he's rucked this year. Unfortunately, some people seem to think he is an efferctive tap ruckman, even when the evidence slaps them in the face.

Our midfield is S_L_O_W, and Richmond tagged Montagna hard, as he is one of the few who can break the lines. There's no doubt we need to inject some pace into the line-up, but the only one I can think of is Geary at the moment.

Based on what I've seen so far, if we win 8 more games, I'll be surprised.

Why didn't Gardiner ruck the last 1 3/4 quarters? Must have been a problem.

Better than Rix

around the ground was better than Gardiner, it seemed as though Gardy was injured as he was no where to be seen!

Bring back King and play Kosi in the forward line if we can help it

He was absolutely slaughtered in the ruck, but surely there must have been something wrong with M Gardiner? Kosi was forced to ruck for almost all of the third and last quarters without rest.

If King isn't available against Collingwood I don't see any harm in letting McEvoy go up against Cam Wood as the backup ruckman (allowing Kosi to play forward).

I saw Gardiner walking around the boundary, near the interchange area quite often during the game,he didn't look injured,he looked useless..........

He's missed a lot of football that dude and he's overcoming another injury, that probably explains his Rix like effort........

He did have a couple of good tap outs though, i should add ,to be fair to the dude........

He'll need to up the ante and quickly to make us more competitive in the middle.....

lets be fair. simmonds had a massive vertical leap which meant kosi couldnt get near the ball.

I say bring mcevoy in.

Maybe we should try and entice Dean Cox away from that sinking ship in the west then.

Can someone explain where this notion that Kosi is a good ruckman came from?
Sue he's servicable but I'm yet to see him have a decent game in that position.

Ah but West Coast were on the way up then. Who in their right mind would leave a team going north fast? Now they are sliding down just as fast and he may just change his mind, though for all I know he may be contracted for the next 5 years to the Eagles and finish up there.

We got floogged in the centre.
It seems to me that we didn't get flogged in the centre when we did not have ruckmen.
Accountable football seems to mean watching and guarding your opponent.
Winning football is ignoring your opponent and getting the ball yourself while your opponent watches you.
