No-Doze Caffeine Pills and the 2004 streak

Post: # 565707Post brown-coat »

Were they related? In fact was our game crushing intensity of 04 partly driven by the consumption of these pills?

Lets get on the nodoze again!

Serious allegation that should be backed up by evidence, or withdrawn Brownie.

what made you think of that all.

BTW every club does it, they are not illegal or considered to be performance enhancing, and they probably are still doing it now.

So in short no.

you cant say this is an allegation

taking a no doze pill would be considered the same as the tv cameras showing roo and dal sniffing something from a cup last year.

from memory players from our club did admit to using them but found that though they started very well it tended to slow them down later in the game.

btw caffeine is a legal drug in the AFL

Haha, I remember seeing that footage of Roo eating that brown mush which I assume was crushed no doze, coffee and a heap of other things.

There are 2 types of no doze, the one i have taken before doesn't crush into a brown colour though. I doubt it was crushed up no doze or something.

if you read through my whole comment you might notice I mentioned coffee, coffee is brown, for some reason people feel the need to read 3/4 of my posts then correct me when what the answer they want is in the remainder of what I have typed.

Pretty sure he talked about it on the footy show.

It was menthol and stuff like that. Apparently it smelt like Vick's Vaporub according to those who interviewed players for ch9.

I remember at the time Eddie said that rubbing Vick's on the soles of you feet before going to bed gives a fantastic nights sleep. He claimed it was an old Scottish trick.

I think that what we are talking about here is that caffine/coffee liquid paste stuff. Players were taking it in 2004 and I think are still taking it. It should also be noted that this product has been cleared by the AFL. Dr. Peter Larkins even featured it (with saints players) last year on Ch 9.

Old news really !!

How about no-doze for the fans who fall asleep watching the current boring brand of football played?

Story I've heard is that in that Brisbane round one game a few years back when Roo was attacked by Mal Michael etc...more than half our players went nuts on the no-doz pre-game, buzzed around for the first half, then completely fell flat as the Lions ran away in the second half.

Yeah, I'd double check that story.

We struggled in the first half and made a big run at them in the third term, with Hamill leading the charge.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Scores might not correlate...but that's what I've heard anyway.

Not sure no-doz would help much when you've got a set shot at goal and have to steady your nerves,
