Who are our competive beasts???
Ok...lets put aside skill and football talent for a moment...
Which are the players on our list that that give their all whatever their level of talent ?
((Note this is just based on this year and players only that have played at least a senior game. They may get beaten on an given day or be restricted by injury, but you at least know they have had a fair dinkum crack...))
Exceptional
Banger
Max
Good
Sam Fisher
Lenny Hayes
Roo
Ball
Fair
CJ
Birrs
BJ
King
Blake
MGardiner
Ok....but need to give more, more often
Milne
Dal
Joey
Not giving anywhere near enough
The rest...
It is not a very long list is it??

No - I agree with the OP - good is good - exceptional is exceptional - you need to not only give all you have (that is good) you need to go beyond to be exceptional.
We should be expecting exceptional - and at the worst settle for good - the kind of good we get from Lenny and Ball!
No more mediocrity!! No more half measures

So Ball and Lenny are in the top 10 in the comp for tackles and contested ball, they kill themselves week in and week out but thats not exceptional. No - I agree with the OP - good is good - exceptional is exceptional - you need to not only give all you have (that is good) you need to go beyond to be exceptional.

I don't think Ball's actual play and form supports him being in exceptional, however, not having Hayes in the 'exceptional' category is just a farce.

I agree...I meant to put him but must have got distracted when I typed BJ.Mooksy wrote:You have to have Jones in there. He competes very very well. He hustles. He bustles. He isn't soft. What sort of message did it send dropping him the week after that magnificent match winning mark in round 1?
I have put him as Fair...but arguably he is good.
I have edited the OP to include him.

but Bally has been too up and down to gain an exceptional rating.
