Great choice in Eddy. Hard nut, looks like he could be a player.

Kudo's for these selections Ross.

(still wouldn't have dropped Dal though).

Lance or James??

Does anyone know what we can expect in the long term with Eddy?
From the little I have seen of him he looks like a Nathan Foley type player, would love it if he could be as good

shhsss ralphy, you might be branded as a lyon lover or stupid..... btw I think your right. Hopefully it's similar to the wake up call ablett got at the start of the 2007 season after his team mates suggested he didn't work hard enough.

Anyway talking about working hard, full credit to a great season and a half of hard work for the best runner at the club. Wont win a brownlow because his disposal is iffy but if can be a consistant hard worker then he will make himself an AFL player.

We are starting to create a better hard working midfield IMO, players who are willing to tackle and gut run, work for each other

Good luck to Eddy tomorrow night. Meant to be the fittest player at the club so there should be a problem in running the game out.

Definitely not a Foley type. Eddy runs all day and racks up disposals, but doesn't do a whole lot with them. At very best we could get a Carazzo/Priddis type, at worst he could be a small Jason Blake.

So you would have him as an outside midfielder who collects cheap possies?
That is a huge let down, from what I've seen/heard/read he is a hardnut inside mid...
Disappointing...

From what I've seen he is a hardnut and he's obviously got a hugh motor based on pre-season form. If he can find the footy he'll do okay but his defensive pressure will be A1.

Eddy is most like Peverill from Essendon. Similar kicking style, similar game style. Probably on par in ability, too.

Hope you are right but he has a long way to go to be as good as he was.

Don't think he is explosive but he is easily the quickest at the club over 400-800m or so.

A bit like Dempster. Not fast but can run all day. Won all the time trials but doesnt win the sprints.

More of an attacking runner than Dempster

I meant pace. Not how he plays.

He'll get a fair few uncontested possies from hard running, but that's not to say he won't be handy around the clearances either. But he's certainly not a line breaker who will burst through a pack and hit Roo on the chest.

Given his running capacity I'd expect Lyon to primarily use him as a tagger.

Without Birss in the side, it seems that he will have that role. Perhaps the job on Palmer.
