GODDARD

Post: # 591676Post taz »

RL comment "best game since coming back from injury"

I would say just about best game ever !!!

A captains like performance. leading from the front all the way!!!

and the way he flew the fag when Bally went down was inspiring

I reckon half of the saints supporters watching were out of their seats

I recall a couple of years ago people on this site referring to him as a dud.

No way ! Last night he showed he was a true saint and a superstar well worthy of his draft selection

Took the telling mark was it was needed. In fact this third quarter arguably won the game. He seemed to be kicking goals and controlling the back line...how does that work??

And flew the flag in a big way..impressive.

He's one player who has backed up the number pick that was used to get him. He reads the play brilliantly, is the best kick in the comp and is the perfect playmaker. Added to that it was great to see him go forward at look dangerous in the front half of the ground.
And this in his first year back from a reco.
And to think he should be at Carlton :D

That is something going right at the club.

The way BJ & Lenny have returned from knee reco's is a credit to the players and the management of the club. A lot of players return physically/mentally wounded but these two have not missed a beat.

The little taps on the heart after he kicks a goal tell me that he cares a bit too. Good on him I hope he continues to improve & really show his class for the long term.

GODdard! Agree! His best play of the night was his sprint to Warnock after Ball was taken out, only Phar Lap has a bigger heart. By the way, who was that guy on the field that looked like Luke Ball? Same height, same build, same number, best game in years.

i love seeing that! and roo's celebration after the snap was the best i've seen in a while. wasn't flamboyant arrogant cr@p we see from guys like pavlich, could tell it was from within.

Gr8 stuff, from Goddard and Riewoldt, the displays of passion, fantastic stuff,

Goddard's taps and Riewoldt's reaction to the goal in the last quarter almost gave a me a fair dinkum semi,

truly did look like passion emanating from deep within, not the usual hi I'm a hero, Didak type nonsense

I was extremely happy to see BJ and Kingy stick up for Bally. I can't remember the last time i saw some players fly the flag like that. BJ is now playing some of his best footy.

Is he starting to have a bit more of a presence like Hamill did now? Man the look on his face tells you something :P

BJ's best game for a long time , hopefully Ross will allow him to stay in the midfield for the rest of the year. His long penitrating kicks out of the centre and into the forward line is what we've been missing.

The man has arrived! He should be used from the wing forward.

Great to see so many players showing abit of passion and heart.

BJ's heart taps are always fantastic, and as someone posted earlier, Rooeys delighted aggression when he kicked that snap was brilliant.

If all the players can show this sort of determination at once, it might just kickstart this team into playing how we know they can.

I think that BJ, Roo and Gram all played their best games for the year this week....

Now all 3 were no doubt injury effected to some extent earlier this year.....but I think also that the Coaches "Big Staement" this week was also casual.

Remember in 2006 when he played his best footy in the midfield, well now that we have Sam Gilbert back and Dempster in, Ross let him run a muck in the midfield

i think the last few weeks have really hit a nerve with a few of our players Lenny Roo Gram (yes i eat my own words on this one) and BJ played that game with passion and determination those four pulled us over the line lets hope this sparks more passion to the rest of the team

When we drafted him, a big deal was made of his love for carlton. I was very concerned that he may request a trade to Carlton after 2 years. Now i think he is one of the players that is the most passionate for the red white and black....go BJ

At the risk of being shot to pieces....BJ reminds me a lot of Nathan Buckley.

Body shape, kicking penetration, gut running, and absolute passion for the team.

I know most on here hate Buckley, but if BJ can be as dominant a player as he, we have a lot to look forward to.
