The missing point

Post: # 608452Post Persuader »

Can anyone tell me what happened to Roo's point ....he scored it in the first quarter but all I ever hear is 6 straight, 6 straight.
Checked the stats in the Sunday papers and yes, there it was, 6goals 1 point, have watched the replay...yep, there is the point sailing through the point posts, flag waved, the kick in, everything we require from a point.
Perhaps 6 straight makes a better story for Roo, perhaps I should shut up.

I just have a problem with our multi headed, one brained footy media....one person says something and everyone else just runs with it.

I'm sure Grant Thomas would agree with you. :)

(j/k - didn't mean to turn this into another GT thread)

FWIW, I agree 100% with what you're saying, including the point.

Was that the one that fell short and was punched through? Not sure if that is why it wasn't noticed. Maybe counted as a rushed behind?

As a matter of fact, I thought it was a point to Roo, but I guess his stats look better

I knew he kicked the point, but wasnt registered i was sitting on the net watching the stats and it came up straight away as rushed to St.Kilda, if you have a look at the afl.com.au site and the game day live, it will have rushed stkilda at when he kicked that behind

Thanks for that. It registered on Rooey's stats in the paper - that's what confused me.

It should hav been a point to Roo though right? Why was it classed as rushed? IIRC it made the distance easy?

Meh, 6.0 looks better than 6.1 so I'd take it.

Yeah rushed through, if it wasn't touched it would have just bounced over for a throw in...

A mate of mine said he would be BOG so i had a close eye on him and the 'point' was a rushed behind
