None of them can win a contest let alone actually do something with the ball if they get it although, in that respect, they are like almost everyone else in the team.
I saw not one Saints player accurately dispose of the ball with the non preferred foot. Last night, I saw fifteen Geelong players do it. How can that be?
We are unbelievably slow - even slower than Collingwood!
The fastest player in the team, physically and mentally is the oldest. Riewoldt with a broken hand took more contested marks than the rest combined. Our backman think contested marks are something other clubs do.
We will be smashed in the last three games.

And #44... what game were you watching?
Half the time it was Milne by himself in the forward line against 3 or 4 opposition players? That's not his fault.
Despite that he still escaped with a couple of goals and he put in a lot of effort. He did his job.

I thought 13 and 44 stood up tonight. 44 was stiff to get pinged on that run in for goal...I thought it was a too high tackle. Schneider played ok and kicked a nice pass early in the game to Roo I think it was... Both kicked goals as well, incl another boundary line "miracle" from Milne who does this so often we tend to take it for granted...

- Fisting ball from pass to opponent: 8 out of ten
- Foolish courage: 10 out of ten
Unfortunately, whilst foolish courage might attract hero worshippers it is not high on the list of football skills.

"Milne's effort was selfish & very ordinary."
fair enough...wasn't his best game, but he did put goals on the board and we didnt have enough players capable last night to contribute in that dept.
he also spent time at FF where I think it's just stupid to play him, have you ever stood beside him and noticed how short and small he is? What is that about? Would Richmond have ever played Kevin Bartlett at Full fwd?

It's the people who watch every game on TV that wreck this forum.battye wrote:And #44... what game were you watching?
They see about one twentieth of the playing field yet they're the one's who are the most ardent supporters of the "it's the players" association.
If they were at the game they would realise how often there is no-one to kick to. That a lot of our poor kicking is due to players attempting to "pull" kicks to get the least worst result.

#42 a bit harsh IMO. its his first year and last night he hardly got any game time. granted that was probably deserved but you cant blame our failure on a 19/20 year old first year player.
he will probably be playing in casey anyways from here on out anyways as i'd imagine and hope that ross will be cleaning house this week for this weeks must win game against fremantle. IMO quite a few players will be dropped.

""It's the people who watch every game on TV that wreck this forum""
yes, there is no substitute for being at a game.
Example...watching Milne playing for Casey the week he got dropped. It wasnt a comfortable track like the Dome. He got down and dirty, ran all day, was geeing up the players at every break, listening intently to the coach, and mentally right in he zone..almost scarily so.
I think he kicked about 4 and set up a few more.. After the siren, he went to every opposing team player and shook their hand. He was last off the field by minutes,....(it was cold and dark), humbly signing autographs for every child who wanted one and speaking to anyone who wanted to talk. Milne was last to the showers..
Another player might have easily extricated himself out of that whole humiliating scenario as soon as the bell rang, but Milne treated that whole gameday gracefully and as seriously as any major game I've seen him in.
You dont see that on tv.

His defensive efforts were disgraceful & kicking two goals papered over his overall game.
Very disappointing but once again, Yapper fails on the big stage.
When has Yapper delivered when it really matters? His pressure was non existent last night, he still gets brushed aside in his tackles & he still gets caught trying to do too much. I saw him a number of times last night hanging back hoping to get a cheap kick when a teammate was outnumbered by filth players who invariably took the ball away.
He was rubbish & so is your holier than thou response. Argue with a point but stop with this 'so does your memory' sarcasm.
He is a forward pocket and relies on the side playing well for a start. he has also kicked vital goals this season and his game alone probably helped win 2 games which is probably 2 more than most of the side this year. If he is out then we will play short next week as he has been far from the worst this season. Yes he wasnt great last night but again he was better than 6-8 players and that was a poor game for him.Animal Enclosure wrote:Do explain Plugger...plugger66 wrote:So does your memory.Animal Enclosure wrote:Milne's effort was selfish & very ordinary.

perfectionist..whilst you are of course entitled to your opinion, your constant criticism of #8 does you no favours IMHO
He obviously was still hampered with injury last night but you seem to take every opportuinity to have a crack, yet remain silent when he plays well.
Very disrespectful to the best fullback weve had in a very long time, since Bob Murray Id dare to say

Max Hudghton can't win a contest?
Guess it must have been Franklins night off when we played Hawthorn then, and Pretty Boys day off when he kicked none on Max.
