Robert Harvey- The Last VFL* Player

I saw that on a sign at the footy recently, and it may well have been a thread here at some time. The AFL was officially named in 1990. So, anyone who played before 1990 was a VFL player.

The question is, who was the penultimate VFL player - Anthony Stevens? And both Nathan Burke and Stewie Loewe must have been among the last few as well.

Certainly, there can be no better holder of the epithet than R Harvey.

Chris Grant? or did he start in 1990?

But Chris Grant was drafted in the 1988 Draft by Footscray.
He didn't play his first senior game until 1990 but was a registerde VFL Player in 1989.

It is Lynch only because he played in the GF other than that it is Anthony Stevens and Wayne Carey (weird hey) All 3 players finished in 2004 and played in 1989 when it was the VFL
