Spoke to Nicky Winmar today and he thinks we're a good shot. Thinks the boys will run amok to quote him. Also joked about making a comeback with the G-Train. If only...

I think it's a real pity he wasn't a one club player but at the end of his tenure at the Saints he had definitely lost the plot....
one game ffs..... ...he had personal problems....someone should have stepped up for him ..and taken that little arseswipe from carscum out of the game.........

In his final year with the Saints, we played 24 games.
Nicky was named among the best players, by the club in the Saint magazine, 16 times.
Then he was shafted and sacked because he stuffed up in one game against that little prick Franchina from Carlton.
It is an utter disgrace that Nicky was forced to play out his AFL career with the Dogs.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell

He is one of my all time favourite players. I have a framed poster of him ( from the painting of him lifting his jumper up and pointing telling the Collingwood ferals what for) on my family room wall, it is one of my most favourite possessions.
I hope life is good for him hopefully he might make it to the next Western Saints Function. I am sure we would all love to see him.

I love the man. 1998 was when he last played for us, then he had a year with the dogs, but his heart wasn't in it. He was in tears on the ground after the match he played against us. I'll never forgive Tim Watson for getting rid of him.
Does he ever make it over to Melbourne now? I'd love to meet him again one day.

And now that he hasn't got any!Life Long Saint wrote:Loved watching him play but I have never forgiven Winmar for walking out on the club over money in early 1993.Winmar wrote:I'll never forgive Tim Watson for getting rid of him.
Ruined our momentum for the season and we never got it back. Kenny Sheldon lost his job at the end of that season.
With the momentum we had then we could have gone all the way. Unfortunately luck never seems to follow St.Kilda
Another opportunity awaits!
