Our Players trade value
Does anyone realistically think L fisher and x clarke have trade value to another team ?
Kerr looks like being worth AT LEAST 2 first round picks or a top 5 pick and a 2nd rounder.
Cousins i doubt will fall as far in the draft to us. (richmond, collingwood, carlton, port adelaide, adelaide sydney all have picks before us)
id advocate trading a late pick (like we did last year - pick 90 if memory serves correct) but not one of our 1st three selections.
only players in out top 22 would be any value for other teams
trading bit pieces for bit pieces is hardly going to do it for us is it ?

We didn't actually "trade" pick 90 last year.
It was simply the required consideration in the transaction - ie we had to give Geelong something for them to give us King and Gardiner.
Geelong were happy to give away King and Gardiner - they needed to relieve some pressure in their list and the players wanted to come to St Kilda so Geelong did the right thing by their players.
Geelong could have simply delisted them and they would have gone into the draft process, but it was a good thing that Geelong did so that King & Gardiner got where they wanted to go to.
Geelong couldn't just give them to us - under the draft rules we had to give something to Geelong in exchange. We agreed on the useless pick 90.
Geelong didn't even use the 90th pick we gave them.

there will be no interest in L Fisher .. some club may punt on him in the PSD if they have cap room but definatley would get overlooked in the National Draft.
A few clubs may be interested in X Clarke but I would suspect most clubs would be offering a late 3rd round pick or a late 2nd round pick at best.
My tip is L Fisher will be playing in the VFL next year and X Clarke will be on his last chance at the Saints.

Only Roo, Fisher, Dal, Hayes, Goddard and Montagna would get us anything significant I believe. Kosi ain't gonna get us much, and Max is in his twilight years. Milne, whilst good, isn't gonna get us anything of value. Of those blokes, Monty and Dal are the only two worth considering IMO. And it better be good to get rid of Dal (ie Kerr).

Great points - the simple facts seem to be that all the players that seem to be being considered for trade (here, not necessarily the club ) would have cycled to the bottom end of their trade value (X, Dal and Kosi will get much less than they are worth IMO).
So why trade those that are clearly worth more to us than some speculative deal where another club is paying under the odds?
