Given that Schneider only kicks 1.5 goals a game (about the same as Kosi), does he do enough other stuff around the ground to justify his existence?Lenny_Hayes7 wrote:Would have taken Milne kicking 60 goals and Schneider kicking 28 at the start of the year.. Good combination up there.

He averages just under 15 possessions a match.
This was his first year with us and one would hope he can improve on that.
He is averaging 1 kick less a quarter than Ryan O'Keefe that some on here rave about and O'Keefe has averaged just 1 goal a match for the last 2 seasons.
Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!
I think Schnadzo does enough to warrant his place. I think next year he will kick more goals... if he gets 40-50 goals a year that would be great to complement Milne's 60 or so.meher baba wrote:Given that Schneider only kicks 1.5 goals a game (about the same as Kosi), does he do enough other stuff around the ground to justify his existence?Lenny_Hayes7 wrote:Would have taken Milne kicking 60 goals and Schneider kicking 28 at the start of the year.. IMO the best thing about Schnieder is that he kicks goals against the flow of play. His goals have really kept us in games at times.meher baba wrote:Given that Schneider only kicks 1.5 goals a game (about the same as Kosi), does he do enough other stuff around the ground to justify his existence?Lenny_Hayes7 wrote:Would have taken Milne kicking 60 goals and Schneider kicking 28 at the start of the year.. Re: 2008 goals, behinds, and accuracy.
thought kosi was a bit straighter than that. his accuracy must have fallen off as the season went on. i stand corrected on an earlier post when i said he was one of our better kicks for goal.Otiman wrote:Player - Goals - Behinds - Accuracy (%)

Kosi isn't alone in missing a lot of "gettable" goals.
Do we have any comparisons vs. other AFL teams?
Since we don't get the ball into the forawrd line as much as we like it would really make a difference to our W/L ration if we could improve the overall team accuracy (DUH)!
Who is our goal-kicking coach???
This needs to be improved next year.

15 touches and a goal and a half per game is fine with me...he uses it well...

Red wasn't saying lenny's a bad player, just that he's not the best in front of goals. There certainly isnt much bad to say about Lenny so if he's only got one thing going against him he's doing pretty damn well. Imagine if he kicked more goals, he would be up there in top 5 mids imo.
Those %es are probably a little flattering too given that i've seen Roo, Koz and Milne shank kicks or not make the distance. I'm not suprised Milney's most accurate though. It's a shame though, his accuracy actually probably let him down a bit this year, it's usually one of his strongest assets. 60 goals though, can't have been too bad.

if that's the case sorry red!
Sam Newman once said that the only two things in footy that have not improved 100000% since he was playing is taking a set shot from 40m out......and the standard of umpiring
Spot on the money for mine.
Would love to see that stats on how many goals Kosi has kicked from more than 35m out. Not that many I'd think
Roo..you can tell early. The first one he kicked in the Collingwood final just came off the boot so sweetly you just knew he was in for a great day. Was like smacking a 3 wood 280m straight down the middle off the first tee

It's not bagging Lenny's game, just his goal kicking, or lack thereof.
