Boyle

Post: # 659893Post ytw »

Read in the paper today that StKilda has expressed interest in Tim Boyle of Hawthorn.

Thoughts. I think its ridiculous, Boyle is no good at all. Waste of time.

I thought this was going to be a thread on Ken Sheldon.

"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Don't see how we could land him, with our 1st and 2nd rounders off limits.

If Hawthorn want Okeefe so bad it means that boyle isn't good enough for them. And if Boyle isnt good enough for a premiership side then why should boyle be good enough for our premiership side of 09?..

Because they have Roughead and Franklyn we just have Riewoldt...as a permanant forward who can kick goals...And roo leads up the ground

Who knows what the Hawks are asking. Probably a 2nd rounder given their track record.

Yup thats the problem... and i don't think he is a top liner but he did look alright last year... The foil for Roo... we need another goal kicker when Kosi goes into the ruck or if roo or kosi r out...

Let the Bulldogs have him.....

A forward line of Boyle and Welsh is still inferior to Moody and Lonergan
so they would still struggle to kick big scores...

Boyle is actually crap... Those that have seen him play, and not get caught up in fan talk, should know this...

And unlike Thorpe and Dowler who the Hawks may be shopping around, he isnt young either... Would not go near him.. Not even for free....

Broke his leg in each of his first two years in the AFL also. I don't think he shows that much to be honest. Bit-part player, an upgraded version of Charlie Gardiner.

Yes, he plays for another club, therefore he must be crap.

FFS

I think we desperately need a third tall forward. Charlie G looked the goods early but I just don't think he's got what it takes.

I'm all for a move for Brad Green or Tim Boyle if we could nab either for a third-round pick. Melbourne will surely get a second rounder for Green so that leaves Boyle, who showed in 2007 what he can do when given the chance.

Leads hard, great hands, would take an enourmous amount of pressure off Riewoldt.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

We should be trading for Thorp.

100% right on both.

Pelchen is a pr1ck to deal with & Thorpe is exactly the type of player we need. Young, talented & agressive.

Why not O'Keefe?
We need a young up and coming forward or a quality one, not an average one like Boyle, won't take any pressure off Roo, too much like Kosi, not mobile enough.

Thorp I like...

What about Dowler?

Lets go and get Thorpe then as it looks like he is popular on this forum than Boyle.

Or why not mock others' opinions instead of having one of you're own

They asked for and got 2 x first Rd picks for Jonathon Hay. I wouldn't like to see us deal with Hawthorn in any way, shape or form !!

if people serioulsy want this guy, they know nothing about AFL

we have players on our list that play his game and they arent getting a game

Ferguson, Gardiner are cheaper options, we just have to use them....

By memory he is 194cm, If hawthorn needed a 3rd tall in their forward line by third tall i dont mean third tallest they would use him....

So if we had Roo, Kosi and Boyle in forward line who would you kick it too?

we need those Aaron Hamill/Okeefe type players that play taller than they are, not somone who is actually tall

if we waste a pick on this guy, the stkilda coaching staff have no idea of footy either

His best year was 2007- an average of 1.7 goals a game... that is less than a forward pocket in Stephen Milne

In 6 games this year he kicked 6 goals,

in 2007 he averaged 9.2 possessions
