Great news??

Not too excited about it to be honest.. Pick 31 will probably have produced a decent player.... Let's see how Farren comes on. Welcome to the club!

Not ecstatic. At least he has pace.

And at least his name is not Nathan Carroll.

We are essentially getting something for nothing. We lose 17 spots in the draft priority order and pick up a player for free. Regardless of what you think of Ray, I think that's okay.

Decent player?

Ray was a pick 4 - Just shows how inexact the draft is.

And you complain about pick 31.....Pheffff.

Tattslotto numbers???

Make a note of who goes @ 31, then keep track... and if he plays well, come back and tell us all "I told you so".

The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

Decent... Nothing more. He's got pace to burn though, which is an asset that we sorely lack. I think 17 spots is a fair amount to drop in the draft. Anyway, I think the trade could turn out OK, hopefully we can trade to get back in the 2nd round!

He is quick and can break lines

i would suggest this means we will trade X

Ray will be a good player for St.Kilda

get a life some of you

i am fairly happy with the trade however i would have preffered Corrie for pick 93

And when he finally comes out with that "told you so"

Myself and you will reply with a St Kilda probably wouldn't have drafted 'THAT' player so your assessment is VIOD!!!!!

Not a bad trade.

Farren Ray can play a bit. Just need opportunity.

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Could have been worse.

Some of our draft picks have been hit and miss.

Farren Ray has his deficiencies but he is young and has some nice attributes, he's quick and has a good motor.
We can turn him into something pretty good for us. and we move from pick 31 to 48 in the draft, who knows we can still unlock another chipper from there.

Farren Ray, Welcome to the Saints.

Hopefully you'll be able to provide some relief for our outside runners (Dal and Joey) so that opposition clubs will not find it so easy to 'bottle us up'.

Seriously, its Farren for basically half a second round pick (because of receiving 48)

This is definitely a great trade!!!

Welcome Farren! You will star - grab your opportunity and it will see no boundaries!!!

I really hope he can take this opportunity to prove his worth.

Was rated very, very highly at draft time a few years ago.

Welcome to the club, Farren.

spot on!

A kid is getting flamed before he has even walked through the gate at Moorrabbin.

As someone said this year he averaged nearly 20 touches and 3 tackles...he's not a hack

Picks become more speculative as they get higher.(at 48 compared to what was paid)
So it doesnt work like that.

He has dominated some games at AFL level.

Not even on the same page as Fiora or Tenace who he keeps being compared to.

I thought it was every saints fans dream to inject PACE & RUN into the team???

X Clarke, Ray, Gram, Dal Santo, Montagna

Coupled with

Ball, Hayes, Goddard, Armitage

---------> We may be too reliant on Ball and Hayes now with very minimal ball winning abilities.

Maybe recruit Harris!!!

and thats where we need Armitage to keep developing. He is definitely a clearance man. He needs to step up and play every game.
Benny boy would help also

Logic says we should then trade our #16 for Cooney... yes?

Amusing post on the Bulldogs BF forum ... :D

"Can't believe we've been bent over by St.Kilda twice in a week!

First they want our Father and son, forcing us to use Pick 14, whic we could have used to get ROK or Hall to the Dogs, then we give up Farren Ray & Pick 48 for Pick 31!

I hope St.Kilda never make a final, they can jam it

I guess with all thier rejects, they might think they can get close."
