As we didn't pick Carroll up in the National Draft and look to have a few picks in the rookie draft, is there any chance we will pick him up in the rookie draft?

Not possible, he is too old for it.

I think you have to be under 23 to be eligible.

Correct.

Too many games played for a mature aged rookie also.

A tough year for any player to be delisted or seeking re entry into the AFL with such a strong field of young players in the draft.

If this field was in last years draft, more than likely Stuart Dew would never have been approached...

Little or no chance for Carroll and a few others IMO...

Most would be forced to look elsewhere

it is the end of the road for Carrol, if he was 23 or 24 he could have a year out of the AFL system and play 22 games in a reserves team ready to be picked up again, he is too old for that to happen

I remember Fabian Francis wanted to go to Freo, but Port wouldnt let him so he wanted to go in a draft and he was too late or something, that was the end of his career, Freo had promised him they would pick him up and they didnt and he thought he could be picked up the following year- that didnt happen

TBH. I didn't really want him anyway (even with the new haircut)

I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

I like the thought posted in another thread....

perhap it's an indication on where maguire is at with his foot.... IMO it's good news if this was close to be right

fabian francis was very unlucky...Freo was over the cap and couldn't draft him. From memory he did his knee and was finished. Was actually a handy player and would have got 50-100 games with the Dockers if drafted, funny how timing works sometimes.

Had heard that the only reason Carrol wanted to go to the saints was so he could still play with his beloved Sandy Zebras... had nothing to do with any desire to play with AFL clubs... :D

Ouch,

Possibly was a part Sandy decision not to recruit him then? :P

I think that Zac Dawson qualifies for the rookie draft.

He would be a very solid insurance policy if something goes astray.
