im just happy we got another two west aussies in the team for 2009 ... plus i have an incling we might look at another one as a rookie selection

It must be all that fresh Gippsland air (cough..cough). Our nice big spuds, or perhaps it all those dairy cows. Relocate to Moe?? Could be a winner!! What do you think Barks??

Hang on JPBFC - Huddo's a ring in!! He coached the Power for 12 months doesn't make him a Gippy boy!! Think he originated from Tassie when his old man had nothing to do on one of those cold Tassie nights!!

Yeah sorry lads I should have clarified my OP re: Hudson. Only coached Gippy, certainly was not born 'n' bred there.

Lot of good players from Gippy.....memory gone blank though. :roll:

Probably cos not to many ended up at the Pies!! Now let's see - Big Bill Stephenson and Alan Morrow were from Sale, Bill Young was also a Sale boy. Bill Mohr was also from Gippsland I believe (could be wrong on that one), Ray Walton, Ray Cross, Brett Knowles, Jason Gram, Brendan Goddard, Andrew McQualter, Matty Ferguson, Shane Birss there's a heap more. Kelvin Templeton was a Traralgon boy as was Bernie Quinlan. Big Barry Round was and still is a Gippsland boy. It has proven to be a fertile breeding ground for up and coming footballers. Thomas and Pendlebury are very good players. Dean Polo for Richmond. Barry Rowlands ex Haw, Rich star was from Traralgon.

Rowlands was from Moe, as was Lachlan Sim (ex Bears player from the 80's), Troy Makepeace, plenty more too.
