Not even the WCE one!

Haha not sure where you heard that Jabber but couldn't see it happening mate. Although I seem to remember Armooo talking up his abilities in a training session report a couple of weeks back. If he has strong VFL form, he could crack a couple of games later in the year, but couldn't see him debuting Round 1.

SO he didnt play ONE practice match yet he'll play Round 1????

Also....Eljay has a groin injury and is 3 weeks away

Now change your OP heading to reflect that your post is merely a rumour please.

A Johnson / Johnston / Johnstone will play in round 1 as well.
There are so many of them that if you don't have one in your team you are in the minority.
If you don't have A Johnson / Johnston / Johnstone you can always have A Smith.

IMPOSSIBLE how could Eljay have an injury when it is not recorded on the club website.

The club would never lie to us, especially about groin injuries.
They have always been up front with the fans and especially always admitted when a player had osteitis pubis.

Take Luke Ball they immediately fessed up after about 3 years of mysterious injury didn't they.

Ray and Begley must play in round 1, either on their own merits or to save the faces of the recruiting department.

Dawson will play because he was taken as back up for Hudghton and Hudghton has to backed up in round 1.

I doubt the selection committee will want to change the team more than 3 inclusions first up.

Lol, what a random thread... I imagine you will have immense bragging rights if Smith debuts, or is even named on an extended bench.

Smith has a lot of good qualities about him and looks like he could become a player but unless we have some injury problems I would be surprised if he debuted this year.

Besides we will already have 4 St Kilda debutants - Steven, Dawson, Begley and Ray...

He must nearly be a certainty. Also LJ will play as he is good. I like both of them so they will play.

Judging by your sig that doesn't surprise me, Robert Eddy and Alistair Smith seem to be quite similar players IMO, I just believe that Smith has more leadership potential and possibly a better kick... but I would have to see how good his kicking is in an actual match to be sure on that...

for all we know they all won't...

they are going to be selected to play specific roles and all three don't play the same role...

I take it it's highly unlikely that he will actually debut.

But how good would it be, not for our chances so much (I imagine he's a fair way from our best side) but when was the last time a bloke debuted for us in the first few rounds of the season? (I may be missing someone obvious here, but I can't recall).

Would be exciting at least.

Has Smith even played for Sandy 2's this year? He isn't listed as injured. What is the go?
