Re: Training
I doubt it will be proper training as we play Saturday so they usually train 2 and 4 days before a game.james rose wrote:Another open session tomorrow at 9.

Depending on which channel you watched, there was training this morning.
Roo and BJ cycling in TTB Room.
Dal interviewed, said a few niggles from players he probably expects to play.
One said Saints injury woes, another says McGuire ready...
Another thread here somewhere says more, I think Loyal started it.
Cheers

What they did today isnt really training as we know it. That is tomorrow and Thursday. today they did what they basically do every day.Iceman234 wrote:Depending on which channel you watched, there was training this morning.

Sorry guys, today they ran out and did a few laps, a few drills, and kicked that odd-shaped ball around, while Roo and BJ watched them from above.
Far from training...as we know it!
Whatever they did today wasnt a normal training day. It was set up for the media and a few supporters. Both proper training sessions will be tomorrow and Thursday and you can bet they will be closed sessions.Iceman234 wrote:As I said, depending on which news report, there was training.plugger66 wrote:What they did today isnt really training as we know it. If the saints are only trainig hard 2 times a week that explains out premiership drought! every time they train they should be training as though its the last one before the Grand Final. no fun trainings where they do nothing just to make the media and supporters happy!
"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

Iceman.....I agree 100% with plugger.Iceman234 wrote:Couldn't have. There was no training!!!tomnz wrote:Roo was out there trained
My terms are "real training" (read: closed sessions) and "media training" (read: open sessions).
Media training is just a PR stunt and an opportunity for supporters to get some happy snaps and autographs.......nothing wrong with either motives.
I agree there is nothing wrong with either also.saintspremiers wrote:Iceman.....I agree 100% with plugger.Iceman234 wrote:Couldn't have. There was no training!!!tomnz wrote:Roo was out there trained

But training is still training as far as the supporters are concerned.
Actually I struggle with the pompous call of "not proper training".
FFS, this was mentioned by James Rose as a training session and that he hoped to get there.
plugger66 thinks he is someone and has some ins at the club. I reckon he's just a clown who comes on here and tries to deflate your average supporter.
James Rose and others who went today to training would have seen it as a reasonable training session.
Several commercial news channels covered it as a training session.
Had I been able to go, I would have thought of it as a training session, as would my son if he'd come with me.
But of course it wasn't a real training session because p66 says it's not?
So the only training sessions our boys do are those which are closed?
The public holiday session the other week, which I was lucky enough to go to because I was on leave, wasn't a real session? Probably just one of two I might get to because of location and work, but s***, it wasn't a real session.
Because the only real sessions are two or four days before a game?
T66.

Come on Dooley, it's the week before the opening game of the season.saintdooley wrote:hmmmm, i dont agree.

We've had a hard pre-season. I wasn't there but I would have thought it was common sense to back off a little and stick to short, sharp sessions rather than going flat out for 2 hours.
You'd be the first to complain if we lost a couple of players to injury at training I'd imagine.

Yep, that's why we havn't won a premiership - because they have'fun' training sessions.
How hard is it for people on here to understand that plugger66 is stating the bleeding obvious - today was only dubbed 'training'. The full on sessions are later in the week.
