Yeah that's fair.

Sounds like X played a full game for sandy on sunday which means he would have been coming off a 5 day break.

It seems the game was about running some fitness into his legs to bring him back round 3 or 4.

Good that they persist with Geary actually in hindsight. Give one of our kids more then a game before dropping him.

Good change.

I re-watched the game this week and thought Geary actually didn't do too bad. Unfairly judged when you take into account his lack of experience.

Agree. It was an even team performance. No reason to drop anyone.

Play the kids! No, hang on.. drop the kids!... er um... give the kids some experiemce... drop the kids.

The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

Im the opposite...

I rewatched the game a few times, and thought Geary was clearly out of his depth.... not writing him off for future selection, but i think he has quite a way to go... Whether X is a better option right now, im not sure, but Geary would want to improve on last weeks performance...

On the contrary, I thought Gwilt played a much better game than i initially gave him credit for... On sat night i thought he was just ok... After the replay, he was actually quite good and played his part well...

Is this change official?
I must say I would prefer a fit X to Geary in this important game.

Stevens is a HUGE out for them IMO... I had him penned as their biggest risk...

Cook also unlucky to be omitted, did some nice things...

This puts a lot of pressure on Tippet, Hentschel and Walker and can really bring Sam Fisher into the game by having him on a lesser opponent.

Excellent news for us.

IMO the key match ups should be -
Baker/ McQualter v McLeod (tag)
Hayes v Thompson
Dal Santo v Knights
Goddard v Vince
Joey v Edwards (run with)
Roo v Rutten
Kosi v Bock

Whoever wins the majority of those battles will win the night IMO...

ROBERT HARVEY A.K.A The Great Man, Banger, Harves, Ol' Man River...
384 games, 4 B&F's, 3 EJ Whitten Medals, St.Kilda Captain, 2 Time Brownlow Medalist, 8 Time All Australian, 2nd Highest Brownlow votes poller.... The greatest of ALL TIME!!

How about:

Jones v McLeod - he's got the leg speed and can hurt him on the scoresheet.
Baker v Goodwin
McQualter v Thompson - stomp those two down and we're right up there.
Dawson v Tippett
Blake v Hentschel
Rutten v Koschitzke
Bock v Riewoldt - I'm pretty sure Bock always gets Roo.
Doughty v Milne

They'd be our keys. Not sure who they've got for run-with roles in the midfield, but Dal will get the first one and Goddard the second, on form, leaving Hayes, Joey, Ball, Ray and Gram to run the midfield. It's pretty hard to stop all of them.
