How good is SOS?

Is anyone still upset and desperate to get Harvs back at the Saints?

I'm rapt we still have SOS, and hope we have him for at least another year, before he finds himself a senior coaching spot.

He has to be one of the best assistant coaches in the comp at the moment.....how he has galvanised our defensive unit is amazing, and a huge reason we are going places this year.

Best of luck to Harvs, but I'm in no rush to "swap" him with SOS if that is a plan/thought by anyone club/forum etc. (Not to mention Harvs strength is in the midfield not defence!).

yep having SOS in the 2009 Saints camp is probably like having RL in the Swans 2005 camp....

SOS wants to coach St Kilda in his own right one day.

I bet a few coaches do at the moment!

Must admit, it's a tough call as to who I'd prefer to be our coach....but I'd stick with a known quantity (RL) for a while yet if he keeps things going forward.

Absolutely concur

To watch the backup and confidence they have in each other is wonderful

Yeah he is a star at what he does...

Go back to the 2005 Grand Final and watch LRT's performance, SOS had spent the entire week leading up to the match doing one on one work with LRT and eh played the game of his life, he must have come close to the Norm Smith.

As for senior coaching I'm not sure he has it in him, wasn't he in charge in our first half against Brisbane in the NAB cup

With all the contracts expiring at the end of the year I'm really worried someone else is going to make him an offer he can't refuse (either a head coaching job or worse a sack of Visy money)

There's no doubt he's a huge asset to the club and we should do all we can to keep him

You can see it all in the development of Jason Blakey.
Blakey sits nicely in the backline and the skills he's picked up over the past season have turned him into a good backman.
Thanks SOS.

fairly certain Ross and SOS both renewed for another year before the season started- now on till end of 2010

been singing his praises for a while now..
last week in defence of Zacks game ...
Did not have a good game......his opponents took 4 uncontested marks inside 35m....

Yep. Hate to rain on the parade but he wasn't too flash last week either.

Agree, and I could be wrong in my observations and generlization here, but he seemed to have a more closer knit support and assistance from fellow backs when he went near the ball with knucklehead BBB Hall in his opening match, and has appeared a little looser one-on-one a few times since. I'm sure SOS will be working on that....he's in great hands there!
recon we saw a much tighter defensive game from
zac last night and wore his opponent like a glove!!
And I think he's having a great influence on the continues development of Gilbo too

Have never heard Silvagni's name brought up as a coach-in-waiting, ever.

That's usually a sign.
