I know it's a meaningless observation, but my eye was caught by it.
If you interchanged Richmond (then 8th) and Eddiewood (then 9th) on the ladder after Rd 5 last year, the top eight was made up of the same teams at the end of R22 ... Order shuffled a touch, but essentially the same. Says a bit for the benefits of a flying start...
Further, the sides that remained unbeaten after Rd 5 stayed at the top of the ladder all year.
Could have expressed that better I know, but you get the gist.
Interesting or not...

Interesting - but has been discussed each and every year - essentially after the first 6 or so games the eight is set and it is just jostling for positions
