CARRARA GAME DETAILS - Pls Sticky

Post: # 739229Post Saint Bev »

GAME - Tickets

Members who have organised tickets through St Kilda, your tickets will be posted shortly and you should have them by Friday next week. If they have not arrived by then I would suggest contacting the club. Everyone should get tickets who contacted the club in the time frame.

Non Members should book their tickets through Tickmaster. Book ASAP, this game looks like being a sell out. Already I am hearing of people not being able to get tickets where they want them. If you have trouble over the net, I suggest ringing them in person, so much easier.

I have had confirmation that our tickets will be in Stand 6. Apologies to people that I have told Stand 2, but as I said at the time, that wasn't guaranteed.

PRE GAME FUNCTION

There is a corporate function on at the ground prior to the game. Details are - Rd 10 v Melbourne @ the Gold Coast – Saturday 30th May, Passes to these functions start at $130 per head. Contact scottf@saints.com.au to book your ticket. Tickets are selling very fast so book ASAP. This is a St Kilda function not a SEQ function.

POST MATCH FUNCTION - WITH THE PLAYERS

There will be a post match function with the players in attendance after the game at the Boundry Riders Bar, near South Gate A. Make your way there after the final siren.

As the players have and early flight, there will be no breakfast :(

PRE & POST GAME DRINKS

We meet at the Emerald Lakes Golf Club directly opposite the ground for pre game drinks. After the "After Match Function" we will be at the Liars Bar, Broadbeach, opposite the Kurrawa Surf Club.

TRANSPORT

Free buses depart from Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, Broadbeach, you will need to show your ticket.

ACCOMMODATION

The Gold Coast Stadium is in Carrara, it is very much suburbia. For that reason I always suggest to people to stay in Broadbeach. Here you have easy access to everything on the Gold Coast including transport to the game, restaurants, bars, shops and the casino. If you havn't booked your accommodation, I would suggest you do it ASAP as there are a few events on the Gold Coast that weekend. Try www.wotif.com or www.lastminute.com.au I find them both to be very good.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

No way Saintbrat, it is 3 times the distance. Brisbane airport is North Brisbane. Coolangatta is southern Gold Coast. Carrara is central Gold Coast.

Hey Bev, what does this pathetic cow paddock in the sticks of the Gold Coast (ie Carrara Stadium) hold attendance wise?

Supposedly Carlscum vs Freo was a sellout, but only 10,000 was the attendance!

Mmm, not really a pathetic cow paddock. Fantastic oval actually, facilities just a little tired. Carl Freo game was not a sell out. It holds about 14,500

Ticket sales must be going well.

I just booked two seats in Stand 7 (couldn't get two seats together in stand 6). The only place I could get tickets together was stand 7, 8, and 18.

I am sure we will hear the SEQ lot from there.

See ya in a couple of weeks.

Just booked 5 general admission. Might stand in a nice spot on the hill and take a few marks.

Nice ground that one, hardly a cow paddock, facility a bit behind the times but wonderful surface.

Just a question on booking through ticketmaster, if I buy two online, where do I get the tickets? Do they send them out to you,or do I pick them up at the ground or what? Always had tickets given to me on interstate trips before or bought them at the gate, so this is all a bit foreign to me this time.
Thanks

Would suggest you organise ASAP, as stated by others they are having trouble getting tickets together. When you order over the internet it will offer you tickets, its up to you whether you take them or not or try and get better seats. Or you might be happy to stand. You can pick them up or get them posted. I would get them posted as the lines are always long at the ground and people often miss the beginning of the game. I would ring ticketmaster then you get to talk to someone and organise exactly what you want.

For those standing, pls stand near section 6. This is where the SEQ Saints will be and we want to make as much noise as possible.

Have seats in stand 8 row D for 3 of us, hope the weather holds out.

Have a Dees supporter with us, but hope to catch up for a drink before the game - I'm a little partial to an ale or two pre-game.

If I need a hotel, what would my closest to the airport options be??

Im asking before searching as a recommendation is often better than a blind pick.

Tugan would be the closest suburb to the airport, but gee you are out of the way there also and it would be a fair hike to the game. I don't think you would be happy staying there.

Once again I suggest Broadbeach, for reasons above.

4:07 PM Wed 20 May, 2009THE OPENING day of the NAB AFL Under 18 Championships has been shifted from Carrara on the Gold Coast to Visy Park at Carlton this Saturday.

Torrential rain on the Gold Coast forced the council to shut down all grounds in the region, which forced the AFL to switch the matches to Victoria.

Queensland and New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory will now play the first of a double-header at 11.15am, with Tasmania and Northern Territory following at 2pm.

These two matches will be the first of 20 games to be held in this year's series.

Matches will also be played at Subiaco, Skilled Stadium, TIO Stadium, Rouse Hill, Bellerive, AAMI Stadium, ANZ Stadium and Casey Fields.

The championships will then conclude on Wednesday July 1 with a four-match header at Docklands.

that will be some day at Docklands - easy viewing for recruiters.
