Calm Under Pressure

Post: # 752544Post Devilhead »

Even when we were 5 goals down there was that feeling that we would come back

The belief these guys have is sensational .... ok it wasn't a good start but the boys didn't panic and they slowly worked their way back into the game

Such a great attribute

Exactly, they will always believe that they are a chance no matter what. That is a great attribute for a team. All the good teams have that belief.

Im hanging on to the hope that they believe they are so good, that for games like this one they just rock up and play. If it gets close, change gears to 75%
I dont really wont to give the blues a 5 goal head start next week...

Yeah it was great.

At Quarter time, I was not worried at all, as I KNEW we would come back.

To me the first 3 quarters looked as though they were playing at 80%, similar to the last 3 weeks but when the game needed to be won, the ferocious pressure from the first 7 rounds was implemented to win the game. I'm hoping the plan is to exert as much pressure as required to pick up the 4 points and save the bodies for finals. 8-)

OK I didnt see the game, turned radio on 13 points down, though s*** no,mate then told me we WERE 30 down last he heard.Knew we would win then.Years gone by I would not have had that confidence
Seem to have a real belief in themselves to get the job done.

However I can do without giving big starts,or any starts for that matter

yes, we need to get on top of it with a bit of scoreboard pressure early. one day the gap will be too big to breach.

i was actually shocked how calm I was. Let alone the boys on the field.

Usually I'd be quite upset after that first quarter, but something was telling me there was a long way to go and the kangas cant keep this pressure up the whole game like us. That being said, I pray we wipe the floor with Carlton for all 4 quarters.

Even at 1/4 time, we only had 2 less scoring shots. Once again, hed we kicked straight, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

My thoughts echo those that have commented on this thread. Despite being 29 points down at one stage, I was quietly confident we would come back, and the Roos would tire. I certainly didnt expect the game to stay as it did at the start.

Record for 30+ disposal games in a row

Post: # 753145Post Legendary »

Noticed today that Lenny had 32 disposals.

Round 11 = 32 disposals
Round 10 = 35 disposals
Round 9 = 31 disposals
Round 8 = 33 disposals
Round 7 = 33 disposals

That's 5 weeks in a row he's had 30+ disposals.

I believe Sir Robert holds the record ... 10 matches in a row between Round 3 and Round 12, 1998.

Can Lenny keep it up?
