Mini, Zac and others

Post: # 752670Post st.byron »

I thought Mini was very good today.
His pressure, tackling (7 tackles) and hardness was great. Not a star and without flair but really focused on sustaining pressure in the contests. Is not afraid to get in and under and works really hard.
It's so pleasing to see guys like him, Jimmy Gwilt, CJ and Jarryn Geary all contributing to the overall team effort in a consistent way.

Was also really impressed with Zac's coolness in contests. He has a calm quality about him when under pressure. That and his evasive skills, which are excellent for such a big guy, combine to make him look he's got plenty of time when he has the footy. He doesn't butcher the ball either. He usually makes his possession count.

We've really needed the lesser lights like the guys I've mentioned to lift to another level and consistently deliver and they're doing it.

McQualter - 21 possessions, 7 tackles, 3 goal assists, 4 inside 50's...

Outstanding performance.

Max was a bit rusty today and Blake was very average and cost us with free kicks against. Zac acquitted himself very well again.

Showing why he was picked up so early. Got talent no doubt.

Goal saving tackle was awesome.

Gehrig emerged from scans yesterday saying he was "as sweet as a bun"

Loved Mini's game today, his left foot pass in board to Kosi a massive highlight for mine.

The fact he is getting more of the ball now as well is very promising for mine.

Him and Geary are really impressing me as the season goes on.

Zac was terrific today - will be interesting if Max (if able to hold down a spot and injury free!) will overtake or stay behind Zac??

Anyway, if we can have a back half with Zac, Max, Gilbo and Chips - it would be delicous!
