"Saints weigh up King's inclusion":

http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/rfnews ... 22801.html

"King, the premiership ruckman who was ensconced in the team before an off-the-ball hit on North Melbourne's Sam Power in round 11 cost him a four-game suspension, has completed his penance.

However, he may play for Sandringham in the VFL this weekend..."

and

"With the Saints on the greatest winning streak in club history it has left a cluster of players languishing in the VFL, the most notable of which is defender Matt Maguire, who is destined for another weekend at the secondary level."

I'd suggest it's highly unlikely that either King or Maguire will play at Sandringham this weekend, considering that both Sandy seniors and reserves have a bye.

Stupid.

See I know 'it's only sport and nothing much hangs on it' etc etc...but how the F*** does a) that get across an editor's desk, and b) can a bloke whose job it is to write a few cookie cutter stories each week not think 'oh, hang on, vfl's a bit funny with bye's and what not so I better check...'

It seriously amazes me. Happens ALL the time.

King straight back in IMO.

Adelaide are in good form...so we want our best team.

Plus King will be fresh...wich wil be important as we played in Perth on the weekend and a lot of the team looked a bit tired.

So fresh legs of Schneider and King will be handy.

IF we get on top early I would give King more TOG than Gardi.

If the Crows are up and about then you would expect Gardi to have the higher TOG.

With Gards being in career best form , I think it will only make King step up to the plate as well.

The question is...

Has Macca done enough?

King straight in for McEvoy. I don't think it needs to be explained in any detail, does it?

In: Schneider, King
Out: Eddy, McEvoy

Simple as that.

That's pretty funny :P

Reminds me of the guy who posted a fake quote on Wikipedia after Maurice Jarre died, and all of the media around the world ran with it without cross checking it... including newspapers like the Guardian U.K.

He's not the only lazy journalist!

Mike Sheahan in today's Herald Sun:

"St Kilda and Geelong are entrenched at the head of the table, the Saints a win and a hefty percentage margin in front."

I thought 15 wins (60 points) to 13 wins (52 points) would make that:

"the Saints TWO wins and a hefty percentage margin in front."

But I may be wrong?

It is lazy.

The Age are terrible for it.

I remember when we won the night flag last year they trumpeted it as our second night flag win.

Every other day there seems to be some kind of howler passed of as fact.

It isn't good, for a lot of people the paper is their prime resource for football fact and if they just don't seem to deserve this responsibility.

Yeah you are forgetting that when we beat Geelong there wasn't a loser in the game.

Three cheers for you Bergholt! Expose these lazy buggers whenever you get the chance. That bloke's probably pulling 100K a year and he can't be bothered looking up a fixture that is on-line! We should have a media watch just for these guys. Just because it's sport doesn't mean they should get away with such sloppiness.

i love good journalism and think that they're an integral part of the game. this is what annoys me so much when they do it badly.

Fit-again goalsneak Adam Schneider replaced Ball, while ruckman Steven King, who has served his four-game suspension for his shirtfront on North Melbourne's Sam Power, replaced Ben McEvoy.

many had King- out injured-over the last few weeks;

speaking of little misses

just watching the replay- (I haven't had time to watch more than bits and pieces)

and the Fox intro to the teams just pregame- had the Freemantle Logo flick through before the eagles team list :)- Freo could only wish.

Quote The Australian
"St Kilda's fifth straight victory lifts Ross Lyon's charges two games clear of second-placed Geelong, who suffered a shock loss to Brisbane last night. "

Dont they read their own crap ?

Martin Blake does it again. He's really just not trying is he?

http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/rfnews ... ntentSwap1

"The position of Matt Maguire, who has played just 14 senior games in the past three seasons, is not clear. Maguire, who has been dogged by leg injuries, is just 23 but the club did not use him at senior level in 2009."

23? In fact, Maguire turned 25 in May, so you're just wrong.

"(Xavier) Clarke has been a disappointing top-10 pick, with 105 games in seven seasons, but has never had any continuity.

But he is still only 24 and he could provide some of the ball-carrying zip that St Kilda could do with."

24? X turned 26 two days ago. What version of the list are you looking at?

LAZY! Get it right!

I actually thought it was a good article, but you can find 3-4 factual errors in The Age every day.
