coming into the finals with the " expectation" around
the team/Club Psychologist
the medical/ training group
the coach/es
the team
the corporate support
the off field team

the Bubble maker- someone who can filter out all the 'hype' and I want's from the team, and keep them focused. Blinkers required...

although watching the team at training during the week they were more than aware of the slightly larger crowd and the cameras,

I think at the moment, David Misson has the hardest job.

Do you break a player's momentum by resting him when he has a niggle?

If you don't rest him, will he endure the finals?

Will he come back slower to adjust to the tempo?

In September, the selectors have the biggest problem.

Do you play players on reputation instead of form?

Is the opposition going to be more scared by a big name rather than a form player?

Do we attack or defend?

Do we play tall or small?

Having said all that, I would love to have their roles ahead of the other 15 clubs. What a luxurious dilemma!!

Incidentally, does anyone know exactly who our selection committee consists of?

I assume Ross Lyon, Stephen Silvagni, Leigh Tudor, Tong Elshaug, Greg Hutchinson and Andy Lovell. Perhaps Danny Sexton, Matthew Drain and even Nathan Burke, Andrew Thompson. With David Misson advising.

Is there any permanent selection panel?

The supporters - the suspense and anticipation, mixed with expectations is killing us! Those in charge at the club seem to know exactly what they're doing and it all seems to be progressing with a minimum of fuss. As for us, we've got no control over anything. I wish I could hit the fast forward button and just start the finals already!

As I've been saying for the past 6 years - the players are the most important element to success.

Always have been, always will be.

Do you mean to say that Saintsational.com website posters don't select the team.
No wonder they have only won 19 games so far this season.

The bloke or bird whose job it is to fit the list of FIT players on one page...

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

If anyone has the 2009 AFL Guide, past versions have listed the match/selection committee composition.

I've got this book and StKilda didn't list the Match or selection committee,i compared it to the Swans and they did list their match committee...

Can't answer the question

The players.

The remainder of this season will be decided above their shoulders. We are better than every team in the competition except maybe geelong (have a feeling they will lift their intensity in the finals - the question in that case is can we match it?) so i feel if we don't do it this year, it will be clearly because of them.

And we should do it.

Just like we should have done it in 2004, 2005, 2006... etc

Here we go again!

We supporters have the toughest job because we've seen it all before and we just want that one premiership before we die but have been denied so many times.

Only Saints supporters are sceptical and nervous now. I can understand why.

found this quote ;;

"The two teams that seem to be completely on top of their game are the Saints and the 'Pies. Both have made an art-form out of winning consistently. The Saints performance last week was sublime. The 'Pies have been equally impressive of late. Maintaining their current form is going to be the challenge. There is no doubt when sides transition themselves from hunter (Saints and Pies) to hunted (Cats and Bulldogs) effort wanes and performances falter. Staying in the present is critical as the allure to allow your mind to drift from past to future becomes excruciating. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
One thing is for certain great form and feeling good about yourself is a much better place to be than dragging yourself from the depths of despair and hoping things are going to change. "
