Hopefully they will all wear St Kilda jumpers.

Just joking, Barry. Couldn't resist.

I'm pretty happy with this year's recruiting. We got: a young, ready-made tall defender in Johnson; a possible gun defender in Smith; an outside and an inside midfielder (Winmar, Hutchings); a backup ruck in Pattison; a (98kg!) forward/ruck in Archer; and a (fingers crossed) possible superstar forward in Walsh...

Who could possibly be bored? The anticipation's killing me, personally speaking. Can't wait to see this lot develop.

Some may have to wear Zebra jumpers for a while.

A club MUST have a minimum and maximum list of 38 players.
In addition a club MAY have up to an extra 2 veterans as well as the 38.
If a club does not have a total of 40, list of 38 plus extra veterans, then a club may have extra rookies instead and nominated rookies to increase the number of players eligible for senior selection up to 40.

Veteran payments count less against the salary cap.
For the first 2 veterans only half their payments count.
It is therefore desireable to have 2 veterans.

St Kilda has two veterans, only half their payments count against the salary cap.
St Kilda has chosen the option to leave one veteran place open for a nominated rookie.
That meant 37 senior players plus Baker making up the 38.
Baker is inside the list of 38.
Hayes makes 39.
Hayes is outside = extra to the list of 38.
The club has an extra rookie instead of player 40.
Any one rookie could become a nominated rookie during the year without a long term injured player.

I take it the nominated rookie is able to be selected at Senior level without promotion?

Why does that mean we really think Walsh will make it. Anyone can have that spot.

Does anyone know when they will start having open training sessions so we can go down and have a look at them all in action to get an idea of how good we re going to be?

SO in summary, 8 senior players have been deleted, plus 4 rookies (8 deletions includes Allen and Fisher who are only on our Rookie list due to contracts - they won't play for us or Sandy at all in 2010 I assume!).

That's a nice amount of turnover for a side that finished second!

Rossy certainly keeps the kitchen clean hey Emma?
