Why did Roo butcher his hammy?
Time we have a forum inquisition over this.
I'm sure the medical and coaching staff will be pondering the WHY, as we have invested hundreds of thosands preventing this sort of disaster happening.
Harley on Channel 7 stated that he thought the twisted ankle, impeding Roo's running ability may have led to the injury, making Roo out of balance/rythym with his running.
BUT.....
Last year, with his buggered knee, there were no hammy type issues.
I dunno.
I just hope the medics didn't stuff up

I was watching "One week at a time" and Roo was talking about his 45 mins. or so of training prior to the warmup every game.
When you consider the gut running he does, is it not possible that muscles and tendons become fatigued and are more likely to injure.
Maybe they need to reduce his training as they did with Harves, who was always straining hamstring/calf muscles earlier in his career.

I think we have to concede that these things happen. The ankle issue would have contributed but players just get injured and medical staff can only do so much but if it happens, it happens.
Was the ankle the same leg as the hammy or was it the opposite leg?
I think that shot at goal really hurt him and may have stressed the hammy.
He should not be rushed back or even be brought back one week too early. The recovery is critical to his long term future.

was the impact to his lower back from a ' non-push' in the back in the first quarter that required work during the first quarter to his hip area more the reason for lack of movement and maybe some tightening- than the ankle injury some suspect --

Perhaps we can also hit him on the chest with our kicking, yes he has a great leap when on the lead but has it come at a cost?
Bad luck really, and perhaps the rolled ankle had something to do with it?
Lets just hope his hammy heals well after todays Medico's sort it out.
See you in a few weeks Rooey
