Was really good, could have easily ended up with 2 or 3. Looked up and about in the opening few minutes, it was great to see him using his speed.

I would like to see him one-out or leading a bit a more. With Kosi so down on form, Stanley could step up as our leading tall forward.

Looks quite capable of playing at this level and just needs another season of experience/coaching/weights before he could really make an impact. I'm very happy for him to be in the side until Roo comes back as he straightens us up, but he's no gun forward yet.

He is very promising, imagine when Roo comes back These games he is getting under his belt now could prove vital come finals time.

For those that didn't see the Fox telecast...

Riewoldt was full of praise before the game (for Stanley). Says he has been working with Heyne and Stanley as you would expect, trying to teach them some things to help them become key forwards, etc.

Thought McEvoy had a good game too. Just looks to be up a bit in confidence and his skills are better, has possibly moved ahead of King in the pecking order based on the last 2 weeks.

Awesome smother and then centred the ball to Stanley in the last quarter. The mark wasn't paid but he got it off to Mini for a goal. Fantastic footy.

Yeah, Stanley unlucky a few times..

1 - the goal that hit the umpire and wasn't paid
2 - the mark which wasn't paid directly in front
3 - Schnadzo hitting the post, could have handballed to Stanley all by himself in the goal square

Stanley could have easily found himself with a few goals today. But I'm sure he'll be thrilled to have at least got the one, he looks like a real future star though.

Jeeez he moves well though...

Couple more games into him and he is going to look seriously dangerous.

Once he becomes a marking target, yeah definitely. We still haven't had an opportunity to see how he goes about lining up for goal and kicking from 45-50 (although those who have been to VFL games could probably comment).

Wouldn't it be great if in the coming weeks he could have a big game, maybe a 3 or 4 goal haul. It would be great for his confidence.

Kosi could do with the same.

His 2nd efforts were good and gave good contests on most occasions

He adds a different dimension to our forward line.

Lets hope he stays in when #12 returns, unfortunately it could be at the expense of #23.....

Thought he was held a few times TBH, and was rough not to get a free.

Ross may want him to tackle more, but apart from that....looks very promising and I was happy for him to his goal tonight.

Extremely happy, damn he has pace!

He is 19 and still has a lot more to improve on obviously but he is definitely getting there!

loved his goal, looked behind himself, knew he had the pace and burnt it up. Was very unlucky not to have 2-3

I was impressed by the way he managed to get his fist to the ball even when he was caught out of position (sometimes due to poor delivery).

It's great for a young bloke to be doing the team-oriented task of always providing a contest in just his second game. Jeez he moves well too.

Can't wait to see more of him.

Stanley was absolutely massacred by Bock on the night.

I know it is only practice - but in the warm up yeaterday he was kicking them from 50 through the upper half of the posts - hit the nets well up. Reckon he has a straight kicking distance of 60 odd.

I was watching him with those long kicks in the warm up. He certainly looked more like a ruck-forward kicking for goal that an specialist forward. However, that being said, he was kicking them through easily from beyond 50. His kicks sailed really high in the air so perhaps better suited to the Dome than outdoors on a windy day.

Stanley had young Davis on him for most of the night.

Indeed.....and it his abilty to get into position for these types of play that are going to see him on time displace Kosi who is a very one-dimensional player.
