Grand Final gig for INXS

Post: # 985044Post HSVKing »

(I'm thinking this can pass for St Kilda news, many of us will be hopefully interested)

INXS will be the headline act in a high-class entertainment line-up for the AFL Grand Final.

Well I for one was not too rapt with the 'stage amongst the fans' couldn't even see them performing but at least I will get to see who i really go to see but this year there will be the added bonus of a 2010 premiership flag to fly for the Saints.

Without Michael Hutchence, it's not INXS.

Any danger of a modern, currently popular musical act getting a gig?

At least an act not 20 years past their prime... preferably all still living.

They have had powder finger and jet in 2 of the last 3 years. I thought INxs finished the day Hutchence died.

Thanks for posting that.

Gave me a laugh

I was there that day. Only other GF I'd been to until last year. A Hawthorn supporting friend got me ticket with her family that year. Brought back memories.

My three year old enjoyed it. He was bopping away as I watched the video just now...

Why do the AFL persist in GF entertainment?
It is always second rate and just a plain embarrassment.

Lets just wheel Mike Brady out for "Up there Cazaly"
Then the teams run out. Warm Up
National Anthem.
Saints Win.
We sing "Oh when the Saints" 20-30 times through many tears.

Who agrees??

I do like your plan. Especially the part where we win. And they should have Mike Brady every year. Mind you, I liked the entertainment last year.

Really??? Personally i thought it was tacky and if I have to hear Holy Grail one more time I think I will get violent.

Maybe that's why I liked it...as I really like Holy Grail. Love Mark Seymour. Was hard to enjoy it though with all the stress and anticipation

I definately had a nervous, sick feeling at that time.

I like the pre game stuff, it all adds to the atmosphere. Some years are better than others. I thought last years was just fantastic, really had a ball.

Sadly, there's more chance of ACDC doing the Superbowl than the AFL Grand Final.

Awesome. INXS. They're like so NOW.

F*** me.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

I agree that INXS aren't INXS without Michael Hutchence...if that makes sense. JD Fortune was sacked but now he's back WooHoo not.
Let Barnesy rip out "No Second Prize" or Seymour do "Holy Grail" and forget about the rest of pomp and ceremony.
