The official 'vent your spleen' thread

Post: # 1012144Post sainterinsydney »

I've been stewing over this GF loss for a few days now, and I feel that alot of the members need a thread to vent all that frustration in without remonstration from other forum-goers.

First, I don't want see anymore smug looks from "King Coach" next year. The way Lyon acts you would think that he has won 15 flags! I'm sick of the cockiness and ego that is exuded by this guy on a weekly basis.

Second, Nick Riewoldt is a great player, who has got us out of alot of jams over the years, but this guy is no out-and-out champion in my book. An out-and-out champion doesn't miss goals 2 metres out in a GF. Unless he can stand up on the big stage, I still have alot of other CHFs ahead of him. Too many tears and not enough goals.

Thirdly, why couldn't you just win one f'ing flag! JUST ONE!! I could live on it for the next 15-20 years. I'm not greedy like a Geelong supporter; I don't care if we have dynasty or not. We built up from the bottom for 10 years and it looks we've blown it--again! Come on! There is only so much we can take! Everyone else tastes GF success, why can't we?! My father has supported this team for 50 years and thinks now that he won't live to see another premiership. What a joke!

Sorry, guys, I had to get it out.

OK my turn, Saints didn't choke, Collingwood almost did GF1....they are miles in front of us.

PS - I don't think Ross comes across cocky, unless you think the sache is a contributing factor?

Except with tonic and a slice of lime.

Make it Bombay Sapphire and you have an exceptional drink.

The chinese do the best stuff with brocolli. It always tastes ten times better than home-made versions.

I was just venting my spleen :)

Had 25 after we lost our 1984 GF and then spewed up. Will never touch the stuff ever again whatever it is mixed with.

Ross Lyon's idea of team balance is to load up the bottom end with uncoordinated duds to balance out the champions at the top. Seriously, I don't want to hear any more about "role players" whose only role is to "apply pressure" or "crash packs". I also don't want to see any more bit-part rejects imported from other clubs.

Here endeth the vent.

I also dislike gin. I generally prefer darker spirits, namely scotch.

Come to my house plugger, we have 5 broccoli plants that are about to produce their lovely goods.

And we can wash it down with a glass of Tanqueray.

Solar - would you like to join us?

Try maranating broccoli in a good quality gin. The queen mother did it for years and she lived to 101. Come to think of it though, I think she maranated everything in gin and eventually was herself completely maranated.

Not good for a spleen though, unless you're considering pickling it in a jar.

This thread is a disgrace. How can anybody criticize gin? It is lovely.

Perfect Martini.

Place Bombay sapphire gin in freezer.
Place Vermouth on shelf in kitchen.
Once gin is suitably chilled introduce it to the vermouth. "Hello Vermouth, this is Gin."
Pour chilled Gin into martini glass add one olive impaled upon a toothpick.
Enjoy the Ginny goodness.

Note: at no stage is it necessary to open the Vermouth bottle.

I don't like Broccoli either,

My biggest dissapointment from Saturday is we never had anything to cheer about all day. It is the worst St Kilda loss I have ever seen.

Eddy's rant today about the guys being named....well big deal...thinks there should be different rules for his club....well suck it up Eddy 'angry' McGuire, we have dealt with it over the last how many years....its not nice being on the other side is it.

and last Saturday...don't remember seeing a worse loss in a long long time and i remember the 80's....there were some big losses back then. It was like everything that went wrong it did.

But I will be back next year again hoping.

Dad said the exact same thing; not once were we able to get excited over that GF. Anyways, always next year...

It's all a bit suss to me -a great fightback to get a draw in the real GF, then roll over and play dead by 9 goals within in one week. Collingwood played exactly the same. Its no wonder I'm so angry with the club for that kind of performance, and angry that RL played injured players in Gram and DalSanto.
