Roo to the Wing!

Post: # 1071731Post St. Luke »

We're wasting our time playing Roo at CHF. Totally wasting it!

He can run his opposition ragged on a wing. He'd be brilliant at soaking it up in defence. Terrific at bringing the ball back into a forward line. He's not a goal kicker...not even close. But running any opponent off his feet and winning the ball in open ground. He'd be just about unbeatable!

Do we bring in a few new forward options? Tom Lynch? Give Gamble another shot up forward?

Kosi is amazing with a bit of confidence up his sleeve, and tonight he looked damaging (even though I was swearing my head off at him earlier  )

Seriously though. One of the fittest guys in the league, and I believe we're wasting that gift on our forward line. Let him kick it like any other midfeild player given the chance. Maybe it'd boost his confidence knowing that it's not his job.

No offence to Roo, but on a completely separate note; give Goddard the captaincy next year! It'll just flow naturally from him.

He took twelve marks and four contested playing at chf......second half and vs brisbane, he was back playing the role he used to play when gehrig was around....as a hit up fwd.....

Rather than being pounded trying to be a power fwd....which he is not..

His kicking is mixed.....and his technique tonight was flawed....

Yeah, he managed to get himself back on song, but only after he shanked what (in reality) he should have been able to kick. I can't help in thinking perhaps he's got too much on his plate.

The beauty about Rewoildt is that he commands respect. Leave him alone at the oppositions peril. Be it a poor delivery or a swamped area in which he marks, it's more often than not where the ball is turned over. Coaching? Perhaps Milne or Schneider should be shadowing Roo more? But then we get into more congested situations.....tonight, the Blues were impressive in the tight contests....hmmm...what to do?

Sometimes I wish Lyon would look like he's broken into a bit of a sweat.

Rather play him HBF. At least we will not kick it to him.

Yeah. Put him the wing...of an airplane and send him on a holiday.

He could do with one.
