Its a big ask.
Hoping Will Johnson kicks four again today for Sandy. Gram should not get the recall unless he plays an absolute blinder.
AS Lyon said after the Freo game.... "We will keep exposing our list" so we have to keep the filth guessing.
The Freo game was a perfect smash and grab out west.
But Freo are not anywhere near the same class as the filth.

"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....
this. the worrying thing was our fwd structure in the freo game. we seemed to win the ball in the middle, look up forward for a target and we didnt really have a tall to kick to.bigred wrote:Its a big ask.

if we go into the collingwood game with the same problem were going to get smashed.
freo's midfield lied down and let us kick away. same thing wont happen against collingwood.

I think we'll test them but ultimately fall short with a simple lak of personell. Assuming that all of the injuries from yesterday don't come up, missing from the best team is Hayes, Gardiner, Goddard and Blake while our other options in Dempster (arguably in the 22), Geary, Cripps and Lynch are unavailable as well.
I expect to see something like
Out: Goddard, Dempster, Blake, Winmar, Lynch
In: Clarke, Baker, Walsh, Gram, Koschitzke
B: Baker, Dawson, Walsh
HB: Gwilt, Fisher, Gilbert
C: Peake, Armitage, Dal Santo
HF: Jones, Riewoldt, Schneider
F: Milne, Koschitzke, Siposs
Foll: McEvoy, Montagna, Steven
Int: Polo, Clarke, Ray
Sub: Gram
I think that team can give them a run for their money, but will ultimately fall short unless there's a miraculous 4-5 goal performance from one of our mids on top of a great team effort.

That is a worse case scenario for the outs, from what we know:mad saint guy wrote: Out: Goddard, Dempster, Blake, Winmar, Lynch

Lynch will be out (but thats no loss)
Winmar could be dropped
Dempster and Goddard should get up
Blake ?
I reckon it will be
Out: Lynch, Winmar
In: Whoever peforms well today at sandy (any of gram, walsh, clarke, ledger)
Im hoping kosi and baker don't play, both are liabilities
Sainter for life.

Can I just say, I'm watching the Pies atm and has anyone else noticed the feral toothless bogan mouthguard worn by Ball??? They say of you lay with pigs you eventually come out covered in/looking like sh1t
When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

I'd saymad saint guy wrote:I expect to see something like

Out: Dempster, Goddard, Blake (all due to injury)
In: Baker, Kosi, Walsh/Simpkin
Whats the point dropping Winmar and Lynch (unless injured)?
Prefer to see Ledger, Crocker, Geary and Stanley before Clarke, Gram, McQualter who need to stay back in the reserves and start consistently performing.

Ouch. And the man who shall remain nameless looks to be BOG.ralphsmith wrote:Pies killing coast now.
How can a side like Wet Toast beat the doggies by 123 and capitulate the next week.
Strange season.
And who said Swan was going to be out for 2-3 weeks? FFS. He's out there today!
Oh when the saints go charging in!

I'll be happy just to meet Collingwood, learn where we are at, and move on.
A win doesn't make the season. A loss doesn't put it away.

If only it was as simple as that.
The next game will be an extremely painful one to lose.
As supporters, we'll probably need to all HTFU and be wearing an extra layer (or two) of skin to get through it all.
Not looking forward to the mindless taunts and hysteria from the Filth troglodytes

Are you really surprised?
Eagles have beaten no one. Especially on this side of the country.
Every game that the Filth play, where the opposition roll over is better for us.
I dont care who makes our 22 this week, just as long as they come in prepared to put their body on the line for the team.
Dont be afraid of losing. Lets be realistic. We have had a stuttering start to the year. That said, dont be afraid of winning either.
Just expect 100% effort.

You'd like to think that those 22 players would want to take out 6+ months of absolutely misery on the right team, wouldn't you?bigred wrote:I dont care who makes our 22 this week, just as long as they come in prepared to put their body on the line for the team.
