Great servant of the St Kilda Football Club.

Has shown versatility at AFL level which has got him to 200 games.

Always courageous, never giving a thought to putting his body (or fists) on the line for the team, and has bled many times in a Saints jumper.

Had a couple of absolutely elite seasons as the best tagger in the AFL - 04-06. Was dominant and regularly ran with and beat the best midfielders in the AFL whilst winning plenty of his own hard ball too.

Has adapted to being a rock solid small defender over the last 3 years and his performance in both the '09 GF and the drawn GF was outstanding. Selfless acts that are the key to winning finals.

Congrats Bakes. Might be your last season in the red, white and black but you epitomise everything footy should be about - courage, hardness, attack on the footy, willingness to fight for your team mates, loyalty and giving 110%.

Let's hope we can win for you on Saturday.

Love Bakes, mental little guy who will always be remembered in history with one shoulder ripped out of his jumper and a gash across the bridge of his nose. He looks after his team mates and flies the flag for his club. Every team needs an honest soldier that does the little things to drag the team over the line.

If you came into a room as a conversation about Saints players was just finishing and all you heard was, "he certainly put his body on the line for the club" it would be a fair bet that Steven Baker's name would come to mind. Despite his detractors in the media, he is a much more skillful player than he is given credit for - and even though time is catching up after all the knocks - you know he'll go straight for the ball no matter who is in the way.

One can only wonder whether in a better team to begin with, he might have made a midfielder. But we needed someone to shut down opposition play makers and he did it for years just as Clinton Jones is doing it today.

He can proudly wear the number 10 for the red, white and black. Have a good one Steven and Go Saints.
