ST KILDA star Brendon Goddard says he hopes his future lies with the club he has called home for nine years.
Goddard has been linked with Greater Western Sydney in recent days and the talk stepped up a notch on Saturday when he said on Triple M radio that players would approach contract negotiations with a view to life after football.
But the 26-year-old said on Tuesday that he would love to finish his career as a one-club player.
"I'm not sure where it will lead. I'm happy here and I'm contracted to the end of next year and I hope my future lies here forever," he said.
"I love the footy club and I've given everything I can to this footy club and they've given everything back and I want that relationship to continue."

Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly..!!
"I'm not ruling it out, but the reality is when I was talking in terms of players looking towards the future, I was referring to what's happened in the past, and recently with Gold Coast, Nathan Bock and I guess Gary Ablett didn't rule out that they thought about their futures in footy," he said.
"It's raised a few eyebrows but at no point am I looking too far ahead. The position I'm in now is that I am signed until the end of next year and I'll cross that bridge when I get to it."
In same sentance he says that he hasnt ruled it out, so obviously it has been in his thoughts. Is he putting the ball in the Saints hands to see if they will bring a offer to him? Cos he could very easily put a end to it all by just signing for addition 2 or 3 years.

Because of the double page Gary Lyon article on Saturday and he was being interviewed today.
Can you imaging the headline if he had have said NO COMMENT to a question about the link ot GWS?
Something along the lines of Goddard refuses to comment on GWS link.
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)
We didn't go out and try to trade Goddard for Fev last year though did we?
Spot on that's the only reason he left because that dud Voss tried to trade him for the mega dud Fev. He then went on to win Lions B & F with everyone knowing he was going after Voss tried to offload him.
