BJ certainly left the door wide open for going to GWS when he faced the questions from, GAry, Jim, Sam et al....

Realistically how could he have closed the door in that situation?

Handled himself IMO.

Look I don't for one second question BJ's integrity, loyalty and character, but all I'm saying is that in this day and age it's understandable for a bloke like BJ to take an offer from GWS if they do indeed make him "an offer he can't refuse," something that we, with Riewoldt an co. on our list, simply could not afford to match. If this happens, then, hopefully, if justice is done, we will be recompensated with adequate draft picks and such.

Tell you what, i've had a good laugh at the expense of all the Geelong supporters i've known over the last 12 months. I'd hate for that to come back.

In saying though, it doesn't seem to unrealistic for him to leave. Unless we make some MAJOR inroads, if we're not going to be a premiership contender for a while, theirs nothing really keeping him here is their?

Just out of interest, does anyone know how long Luke Ball has been the AFLPA vice-president?

Is this the same Luke Ball who is leading the charge for a massive pay rise for players but will be on about the same money as a rookie next year if the players don't get a significant pay rise. Many different conclusions can be drawn !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

BJ's response if the club approached him this year to secure his services after his contract expires next year: "Absolutely!"

That sounds pretty good to me.

What are the chances that GWS are going to make such a big offer to him anyway? If I was GWS, BJ is not the type of player I would be offering that to IMO.

Seriously, how is any player supposed to respond to that sort of question?

Jim: "If GWS came and offered you a 1.5 million dollar contract for five years would you take it?
BJ: "No I would stay at the Saints."
Jim: "OK, if GWS came and offered you a 2.0 million dollar contract for five years would you take it?
BJ: "No I would stay at the Saints."
Jim: "OK, if GWS came and offered you a 2.5 million dollar contract for five years would you take it?
BJ: "No I would stay at the Saints."

Really, c'mon!

If BJ simply said that sort of stuff no one would believe him anyway.

I honestly think he wants to stay but at the end of the day the terms offered may simply be too good to knock back.

I remember when all this stuff went on with Roo leaving the Saints and joining the Suns. I have no doubt BJ wants to stay at St Kilda and I am sure St Kilda will do everything possible to keep him.
