VFL Rd 14 Sandringham Vs Nth Ballarat Sat 2nd July- reports

Post: # 1096925Post saintbrat »

North Ballarat vs Sandringham at Eureka Stadium 2pm( Nth Ballarat Oval)
(Reserves Game at 11am)

if you decide to try out the new bridges between Melton and Bachuss Marsh which will shorten the trip somewhat ( at Anthony's Cutting)

then when you get to Ballarat do not turn at the Victoria ( 1st Ballarat City exit) but continue on the Western Freeway to the Midland Highway exit (veering left) and North Ballarat is 1st set of traffic lights and turn right-

Entry Gold coin-

Obviously isnt working to well which suggests the mids or the forwards arent good enough.

Had 38 shots at goal and scored over 100 points

when was the last time we did that?

Also has a Full Forward who came back from injury kick 5 in th reserves which will boost their firepower

We have gamble and a out of form riewoldt as our medium to tall forward line

I think so. Looks a good VFL forward line. Where were the pies on the ladder? Some people just struggle with the concept of the difference between AFL and VFL footy. How has Mini gone in the last 3 weeks of VFL footy?

Does anyone else get frustrated with situations like Archer rucking. He isn't a ruckman. He is a kkp, a forward. Will never make it as a ruckman.

Imagine the frustration of attempting to make a career as an afl player when you're in effect 'used' for the team sacrificing your own prosperity..

Difficult.

IMO of course....

You are 100% right and that is why we really need our own reserves side.

Not sure there is that much difference. They are big, they can mark. They kick goals. At least try the damn guys!! It's not like we had a whole host of in form forwards?

It is really a matter of who else have we got to ruck - and even if we had our own reserves side the same predicament would remain.

Who is our back up ruck in the AFL side?

Is Dawson at 195cm the next tallest after McEvoy?

Not much difference in what. AFL and VFL? I would suggest at a bare minimum 30 goals but maybe more. Some are big but I am unsure if they are good marks when there is plenty of pressure from behind. They will maybe play 2 young guys this week. That is plenty.

He is a reasonable VFL forward/back/ruck, that's all.

Maybe that's all he is and all he ever will be Bernard. No doubt you've seen far more of him than I have.

Nonetheless many in his position have shown improvement and become good AFL players. It would just be nice if he could be settled into a position so that we could all know for sure.

Some people do struggle i suppose....

Whilst others see the vfl as the reserves, and whilst there is a gap between reserves and seniors it is always apparant....reserves form, is an indicator of actual form, and form in the magoos is normally one indiator for senior selection.....just like shield runs lead to test selection...

Good use of mini....he proves the point...

He has been in good form......and didnt he get selected???
Problem is, 85 games and 25yo means we pretty much know his output.....

Walsh and johnson are unknown

Are you now conceding walsh and johnson played well, since you did not see them play and made comment on their 'form'

Have to really question the wisdom of dropping Adam Pattison from the list this year. Would have been a very handy backup ruck now. And what a waste of a 4th round pick dropping him after one year! :(

What's the situation with Heyne? Now in the sandy reserves? Do people think he'll be on the list next year?
