Good selection news !
Geary is smaller and lighter than Jimmy, but it's good to see him getting a game - was concerned that they may have gone for the "experienced" Blake. I thought that Lynch may have got the nod.
HS have listed McQualter, Lynch and Walsh as the emergencies.
Let's hope that there are no "late injuries" this week and that Geary gets his game !

Time for Geary to show that he can play in the AFL. Has been groomed for three seasons, needs to do a Peake or his time may be up.
Good to see the two Tom's as emergencies.
Where does this leave the Blake.
Maybe after 13 seasons it is the end of the line for a true club man?????

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Interesting selection...
Gears had had some good games, and some shockers, pretty standard for a young(ish) guy, altho he didn't really improve as he played more..
Kicking is a problem too, something that Gwilt is very good at and was important to our movement out from defence...
Will need a bit of shuffling around in the back half, maybe with Dal to spend even more time there??
Hope he goes well...

Wow.
Call me conservative, but I'm a little disappointed for Blake. I reckon it's the last we'll see of him.
Geary is the oldest player on the senior list not to have played a game this year. I wonder if there's anything in that.

there are only four players left on the senior list who haven't played this year. gardy won't get back, geary was injured for a long time, the other two (heyne and cahill) are looking in some trouble.
so what i'd read into this is that geary's getting his chance to prove himself this year.

the saints website said based on Geary's good form in the VFL - can anyone spruik further on this? My guess is he hasn't played more than two or three games and none of which making best. I can't recall him even playing last Sandy game?
i don't mind bringing in Geary if he's an obvious gun who deserves a direct route back into the team, but I don't think this is the case imo. Eddy's done better last few weeks in VFL. Selection integrity issue or backing in a player for the future?
no doubt there'll be a last minute change anyway.

although only the reserves he did play and strongly last weekend
in losing team but to me played well
I'd say 3rd game back
on team email he is listed as the Sub.. as I would expect.
means Armo is back in full squad.

Have you considered that he isn't good enough? Seriously there are thousands of young footballers whose dreams get ruined simply because they don't have the talent to play AFL. Walsh has done great things just to get where he is.Helen wrote:If I was Walsh I would be packing my bags right now. Fancy being uprooted from your family and brought halfway around the world to sit in the VFL. Well done Lyon.
